Santigold Announces Comeback Album Spirituals, Shares “Ain’t Ready”: Stream
Santigold has announced her new album, Spirituals, out September 9th. As a preview, she unleashed the defiant single “Ain’t Ready.” For Spirituals, Santigold recruited a list of contributors including Rostam, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Boys Noize, JakeOne, Doc McKinney, Psymun, Ricky Blaze, Lido, Ray Brady, and Ryan Olson. Preoccupations Announce New Album Arrangements, Share “Ricochet”: Stream
Preoccupations have revealed their upcoming fourth LP Arrangements, which is set to arrive on September 9th. The four-piece also unveiled the album’s lead single, “Ricochet,” as well as dates for their North American tour this fall. Arrangements was recorded in two parts: first in a series of studio sessions in Montreal during Fall 2019 where most of the album’s bedrock instrumentation was recorded, and then in individual home studio setups over a period of 16 months amid COVID-19 lockdowns, where each band member completed their parts and tinkered with new ideas separately. An archive series of Lou Reed’s music has been announced by Light in the Attic Records, with many of the late artist’s early demo recordings surfacing for the first time. The initial release, Words & Music, May 1965, is set to arrive on August 26th. Compiled with cooperation from Reed’s longtime partner and electronic music pioneer Laurie Anderson (who also produced Words & Music, May 1965 with Don Fleming, Jason Stern, Hal Willner, and Matt Sullivan), the newly-remastered material pulls from tapes recorded by the fledgling New York singer-songwriter prior to the official formation of The Velvet Underground. In archival notes that accompany the release, Fleming and Stern recount their discovery while browsing Reed’s offices, where they found two tapes that featured a 1958 rehearsal...

The 2001 record will be released in full on July 8th via Reprise, and today, Young is previewing it with the song “Standing in the Light of Love.” Young and Crazy Horse recorded the aptly-named Toast at Toast Studios in San Francisco.
