Björk’s Daughter Ísadóra Shares Debut Solo Song “bergmál”: Stream

Björk’s daughter Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney is stepping out of her mother’s shadow to release the new song, “bergmál,” which she wrote and sang as part of the Reykjavík art collective Post-Dreifing. The 21-year-old Ísadóra had previously worked with her powerhouse mom on her latest album, Fossora, where the younger artist contributed to the track, “Her Mother’s House.” Ísadóra is the only artist credited on “bergmál,” a folksy number built around layered harmonies, hand claps, and simple plucked strings. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy Ísadóra’s voice  — less ethereal than her mother’s, and with a rooted, earthy tone. Check out “bergmál” below. The song appears on Post-Dreifing’s January 20th album, Drullumall # 4, a 14-track collaboration t...

Tim Allen Flashes Home Improvement Co-Star Patricia Richardson in Resurfaced Clip

A newly resurfaced video shows Tim Allen flashing Home Improvement co-star Patricia Richardson in what TMZ describes as a “playful blooper.” In the clip obtained by TMZ, Allen is wearing a kilt. When he asks Richardson how it looks, she replies, “Hangs long, I just wish it was shorter” — prompting Allen to lift up the kilt and Richardson to scream. Richardson told TMZ that Allen was wearing boxer shorts underneath the kilt. “People ask me what was under the kilt when he flashed me, he was well dressed under there, I was just shocked that he lifted the kilt, not by a man in boxer shorts,” she explained. Belle and Sebastian Cancel North American Tour Dates, Citing Stuart Murdoch’s Health

Belle and Sebastian have unfortunately canceled the North American tour dates they recently announced for spring 2023, citing frontman Stuart Murdoch’s health. “As you might be aware my health took a dive around November 2022,” Murdoch shared in a post on the band’s social media. “While I am hoping that I will improve over the coming months, we felt it would be a safer route to cancel this tour and leave a clear path to recovery, rather than take a risk and have to cancel at the last minute.” The post continued: “We had a great plan in place, to release our second LP in six months and hit America up again! While the record made it out, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until we can tour it. We apologise again for the inconvenience we have caused you.” Advertisement Related Video Mur...

ANTHRAX Is Working On ’11 Musical Arrangements’ For Next Studio Album

In a new interview with Metal Edge, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2016’s “For All Kings” album. “We’re getting close,” Scott said. “I can tell you we have 11 musical arrangements, and there’s lyrics to some of them. Obviously, I’m going to be working on more words and we’re getting there. I’m hoping at some point we’ll be able to get into the studio [this year] and record them.” Benante also loudly wondered if ANTHRAX could focus on releasing EPs in the foreseeable future as opposed to full-length albums, as has been the case for much of the band’s four-plus-decade career. “What if it wasn&...

He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “When you’re in a band, you’re always trying to better yourself; you’re always trying to say, ‘This is the best album we’ve ever made.’ It’s just a natural thing to do. And I’m aware of the great success and love that was given to ‘Firepower’. And so how do you deal with that? Well, firstly, you have to let that go. You have to let that go, because it’s like you’re chasing after something that’s elusive. What’s the point of trying to emulate something that...

Post Foods Sues OK Go Over Right to Use Band’s Name for Instant Cereal

OK Go, the band best known for their viral 2006 treadmill music video, have been sued by Post Foods over the right to continue using the band’s name for a newly launched line of instant cereal cups named OK Go! According to Post’s complaint filed in Minnesota federal court on January 13th (via Billboard), the band had been threatening to sue for months and the company would be “unfairly forced to continue investing in its new OK GO! brand while under the constant threat of unfounded future litigation by defendants.” Post is seeking a declaratory judgment ruling that the company hasn’t done anything wrong, citing its trademark application for OK Go! that was approved in 2022. According to Post, the United States Patent and Trademark Office did not find the cereal line’s name ...

Sundance Review: The Hilarious and Authentic Theater Camp Takes Center Stage

This review is part of our coverage of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. The Pitch: “You need to know that only 3% of people make it. The rest end up in a mental facility — or a Go Go box in Hell’s Kitchen.” Welcome to AdirondACTS, a cozy, scrappy theater camp where such nuggets of wisdom are imparted upon young thespians. Over the course of the summer, we see the minutiae of theater camp play out in a mockumentary-style film, sharply directed by Nick Lieberman and Molly Gordon (both making their feature directorial debuts). First framed as a documentary following AdirondACTS founder Joan (Amy Sedaris), things begin to go awry when she falls into a coma — a result of “the first Bye Bye Birdie-related injury in the history of Passaic County” — leaving former campers, best friends, and devote...
