Smashing Pumpkins are headed to Mexico City in March for the inaugural The World Is a Vampire festival. Interpol and Turnstile will also perform at the music fest weekend of March 6th-9th. You can grab your tickets to The World Is a Vampire festival over at Ticketmaster. Nandi Bushell and Shane Hawkins Jam to “Everlong,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and More: Watch

It’s been around six weeks since Wembley Stadium hosted the London iteration of the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert, but we haven’t forgotten the star-studded event — and neither has Nandi Bushell. The tween drummer took to Twitter Wednesday to give a heartfelt shoutout to another young musical prodigy: Hawkins’ 16-year-old son Shane. Bushell spread the love with a minute-long video comprised of clips of the duo rocking out together before the tribute concert: “Jamming with Shane backstage at Wembley is one of my favourite ever moments,” she wrote in the caption. “Shane is one of the nicest, friendliest, talented people I have ever met. He is so much fun to be around and has so much energy.” The pair practice a handful of songs in the video, including Foo Fighters’ classic “Everlong” and Ni...

Failure Announce “We Are Hallucinations” Streaming Concert Film

Failure have announced a streaming concert film, dubbed “We Are Hallucinations,” premiering December 15th. It marks the veteran alt-rockers first foray into streaming and captures performances from the band’s summer 2022 tour in support of their 2021 album Wild Type Droid. The 18 songs selected for the film span all six of Failure’s studio albums, including choice cuts such as “Stuck on You” — as seen in the trailer below. “It’s crazy that we have never made a concert film before,” remarked guitarist Greg Edwards in a press release, “but I think this will really stand as a definitive document of the dynamic between the three of us on stage and the connection we have with our fans.” Advertisement Related Video Failure are treating fans just in time for the holiday. The Smile Prove They Aren’t Just a Radiohead Side Project at New York City Show: Recap + Setlist

Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood are many things, but flashy certainly isn’t one of them. Along with drummer Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet, the two Radiohead members quietly re-emerged together earlier this year as The Smile. The trio released their debut album, May’s A Light for Attracting Attention, with relatively little press or social media promotion surrounding it; as with most good things involving Radiohead, the music speaks for itself. With the exception of Greenwood’s prolific output of consistently beautiful film scores, even the most ardent fans would have to admit that many Radiohead members’ side projects (solo endeavors, the Flea-featuring supergroup Atoms for Peace) have up to this point typically paled in comparison to their main band’s discography. But when Yorke, Greenwood,...

Morrissey Cancels Tour Dates Due to Illness

Morrissey has canceled a pair of upcoming tour dates scheduled tonight in Salt Lake City and on Wednesday in Denver due to “band illness.” “Thank you to the fans for the ongoing love and support while we take a moment to restore and recover,” Morrissey said in a statement. As of now, the artist’s November 25th concert in Minneapolis will proceed as planned, and refunds for the two canceled gigs are available at point of purchase. Advertisement Related Video Earlier this month, Morrissey ended his tour kickoff show in Los Angeles early due to “inclement weather” — temperatures were in the mid-50s at the time. The notoriously temperamental artist walked off stage after nine songs, and a representative said later that the show would not continue due to “unforeseen circumstances.” What’s more,...

Jack White Covers Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” in Malaysia: Watch

If you’ve ever wondered what Nirvana would sound like with a bit of a rockabilly twang, Jack White has you covered thanks to a new live rendition of the grunge icons’ 1993 classic “Heart-Shaped Box.” Watch clips of his performance from a recent show in Malaysia below. White may have been praised as the savior of rock and roll in the early 2000s, but he’s made his other influences clear over the years, and it’s equally evident in his rendition of “Heart Shaped Box.” He sings the tune a bit higher than Cobain once did, and his guitar veers more into blues rock than Seattle fuzz. The audience didn’t seem to mind these changes, however, joining White for a hearty scream-along of the song’s “Hey, wait” chorus. After all, any Nirvana cover is a guaranteed crowd pleaser in 2022. It’s been a busy ...

Florence Welch Breaks Foot, Florence + The Machine Postpone UK Tour

Florence + The Machine have postponed the remainder of their UK tour after singer Florence Welch broke her foot during a show in London on Friday night. “I’m so sorry to say that after an X ray it seems I was dancing on a broken foot last night,” Welch wrote in an Instagram post. “It is not in my nature to postpone a show, and certainly not a UK tour, but I’m in pain and as dancers know, dancing on an injury is not a good idea. And have been told not to perform to avoid further damage.” “I’m heartbroken as the ‘Dance Fever’ tour has been my favourite show we have ever put on.The communion with you. Your beautiful faces shining,” Welch added. “I love you so much, and I’m so sorry to anyone who is disappointed. My heart is aching. I can’t wait to be back on my feet and back in your arms.” Ad...
