Regarding the seemingly completed project, she shared, “I’m very pleased with it. Morrissey Announces Tour with “No Rules / Regulations / Restrictions”

Morrissey has announced that his upcoming UK tour will feature “no rules / regulations / restrictions.” The singer, who previously described the pandemic as “Con-vid” and compared government-imposed restrictions as akin to slavery, will embark on his first UK tour since March 2020. Taking place in September and October, the jaunt includes dates in cities like Manchester, Birmingham, London, and Brighton. “No rules / regulations / restrictions will be in place for these concerts – everyone is welcome,” Morrissey pointedly wrote in a post announcing the tour. Pearl Jam Announce Live Album Gigaton (Tour Edition)

Pearl Jam are expanding their latest album with Gigaton (Tour Edition), a new project that includes the original LP as well as 11 Gigaton live cuts. The album hits streaming services on July 8th and will be available as a limited-edition LP/CD combo in independent record stores, while members of the Pearl Jam Ten Club can order it as a standalone CD. Pearl Jam unveiled Gigaton in 2020, and like most artists, they’ve had a sporadic, COVID-willing touring schedule ever since. Earlier this year, when drummer Matt Cameron came down with the virus, everyone from Josh Klinghoffer, Richard Stuveru, original drummer Dave Krusen, and numerous young fans filled in behind the kit to keep the tour going — until bassist Jeff Ament got sick as well. In better news, the band more recently broug...

One month after the passing of Depeche Mode founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher, the band has shared the cause of death at the request of his family. “Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26,” wrote Martin Gore and Dave Gahan in a statement. “So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.” The statement continued, “We had a celebration of Andy’s life in London last week, which was a beautiful ceremony and gathering with a few tears, but filled with the great memories of who Andy was, stories of all of our times together, and some good laughs. Andy was celebrated in a room full of many of his friends and family, our immediate DM family, and so many people who have touched Andy’s and our lives throughout the years. ...

The Jesus & Mary Chain and Phoebe Bridgers Perform “Just Like Honey” at Glastonbury: Watch

The Jesus & Mary Chain’s performance at Glastonbury was all the more sweeter thanks to a surprise cameo from Phoebe Bridgers. The Punisher singer joined JAMC as a guest vocalist on “Just Like Honey” during their Friday evening set at the UK mega fest. The performance was broadcast live on BBC and can be replayed in full below. Prior to appearing with JAMC, Bridgers played her own set at Glastonbury on Friday. She notably dedicated a portion of her time on stage to addressing the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. “In all honesty it’s, like, super surreal and fun, but I am having the shittiest day,” Bridgers remarked. She then led the crowd in chanting, “Fuck the Supreme Court!” Advertisement Last week, The Jesus & Mary Chain released a deluxe reissue of their 2017...

Toyah Wears Only Gold Leaf and Paint as She and Robert Fripp Perform Foo Fighters’ “All My Life”: Watch

Toyah Willcox keeps coming up with new eye-catching outfits, or lack thereof, for her “Sunday Lunch” performances with husband Robert Fripp. In the very colorful latest edition of the weekly series, Toyah wears nothing but gold leaf while pouring paint on herself as she sings Foo Fighters’ “All My Life.” As King Crimson guitarist Fripp plays the recognizable riff from Foo Fighters’ hit off 2002’s One by One, Toyah starts squirting paint on her gold-leafed chest, never missing a beat as she sings the song’s verse and chorus. Coincidentally, Robert and Toyah’s “All My Life” performance comes on the same weekend that Dave Grohl joined Paul McCartney onstage at the UK’s Glastonbury festival, marking the first time the Foo Fighters frontman has performed live since the tragic passing of drummer...

Dirty Heads Share Cover of Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good”: Stream

Dirty Heads are keeping the summer vibes rolling with a reggae-tinged cover of Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good.” Listen to the track below. “Life’s Been Good” already had a breezy air to it, but Dirty Heads revamp the 1978 track by trimming down Walsh’s rock instrumentals and adding in their own rapped verses. In a statement, lead singer Jared Watson called the cover “the perfect follow up to ‘Vacation,’ their 2017 hit whose equally sunny mood made it a TikTok sensation. “It just felt right. If you like the vibe of ‘Vacation,’ if that song impacted your life in a positive way, this is a continuation of that feeling. And I think the story of enjoying life is really what Dirty Heads are all about.” Naturally, Dirty Heads’ “Life’s Been Good” cover comes with a Jay Teegardin and Jared Watson-dir...

Rage Against the Machine Pledge $475,000 to Abortion Rights

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Rage Against the Machine have pledged $475,000 to abortion rights. The band announced the donation in a June 24th statement. “We are disgusted by the repeal of Roe v. Wade and the devastating impact it will have on tens of millions of people,” they said. “Over half of the country (26 states) is likely to ban or seriously restrict abortion very soon, if not immediately, which will have a disproportionate impact on poor, working class and undocumented BIPOC communities.” Rage continued, “To date, our fans have raised $475,000 from the sale of our charity tickets at Alpine Valley and the United Center. We are donating that money to reproductive rights organizations in Wisconsin and Illinois.” The charity shows — a July 9th date a...

Regina Spektor Is On Her Own Hero’s Journey

Regina Spektor still waits for inspiration to strike. The singer-songwriter, who is about to release her first album in more than half a decade, explains that she isn’t the sort of person who sits herself down at the piano when she doesn’t feel like she has something to say. She’s often struck by peers and friends who have developed different types of discipline, people who craft songs with the skill of someone assembling furniture, but her process has always been much more organic. “It’s like somebody screaming at a fish pond for 10 minutes and then like putting in their their fishing rod,” she tells Consequence of trying to force herself to write. “Where are all the fish? Well, maybe you shouldn’t have brought a megaphone to this.” Home, before and after, the name of Spektor’s eight...

All proceeds go to the National Network of Abortion Funds, which serves to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access for those who need it the most.
