Apple has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated additions to its smartphone range – the iPhone 12 5G, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple Announces iPhone 12 Line, Including Mini and Pro Models

During a pre-recorded launch event on Tuesday, Apple announced the latest additions to their smartphone line, the iPhone 12. In addition to the standard and Pro models, a new Mini version of the popular device was introduced. Some of the biggest upgrades over the previous models come in the iPhone 12’s screen. Apple has transitioned from LCD to OLED (organic light-emitting diode), which ups the brightness and HDR capabilities. They’ve also coated the screen in a “ceramic shield” for the first time, a feature that increases durability (“four times better drop performance”) and water resistance. Apple has revealed that its newest iPhones will debut at a product launch event on 13 October. The company is expected to showcase “four redesigned iPhones with 5G wireless capability, upgraded cameras, faster processors and a wider range of screen sizes”, according to Bloomberg. Google has revealed that it will be taking on app developers, who circumvent the Play Store’s in-app payment system, by enforcing its 30% service fee. In a blog post, Google reveals that a number of developers have reported being confused over the company’s billing system policies. “We want to be sure our policies are clear and up to date so they can be applied consistently and fairly to all developers, and so we have clarified the language in our Payments Policy to be more explicit that all developers selling digital goods in their apps are required to use Google Play’s billing system,” reads the post.
