Apple took to the online stage at WWDC to officially unveil iOS 14, in its words, “the biggest update ever to Home Screen“. The update includes “redesigned widgets and the App Library, a new way to tap into the App Store with App Clips, powerful updates to Messages, and more”. Home Screen updates According to Apple, widgets can be pinned in different sizes on any Home Screen page. Apple Plays It Safe, Closes 11 Stores Following Spike In COVID-19 Cases

The company that Jobs built announced it has closed 11 stores across four states following an alarming increase in coronavirus cases in the United States. Back in March, Apple made a move to close all of its retail stores outside of China but decided to reopened stores on May 11 following the strict guidelines, of course. The recent spikes in COVID-19 cases have caused enough concern that the tech giant decided to close stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Arizona. Apple Music Slashes Subscription Prices for Kenyan Users

The subscription-based music streaming service offers access to over 50-million songs.  Initially, individual users would have to pay about KES 1,066 ($9.99), however, this is about to change. According to Apple, the new prices will be as follows: Individuals will now pay KES 319.17 ($2.99) Family package, with up to six members, will cost KES 532.66 ($4.99) University Students in Kenya will now pay KES 159.05 ($1.49) What isn’t clear from the price reduction is whether or not the library of content has also been slashed. Apple and Google have officially launched their Exposure Notification system – previously debuted as contact-tracing software – which is designed to alert users of possible contact with individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. “Starting today, our Exposure Notifications technology is available to public health agencies on both iOS and Android.
