Hundreds of thousands of protesters took to the streets in Myanmar for a ninth day of anti-coup demonstrations on Sunday, as the new army rulers grappled to contain a strike by government workers that could cripple their ability to run the country. Police charge Lekki tollgate protesters with ‘breaching public peace, coronavirus protocol’

The police in Lagos have charged 40 protesters arrested at the Lekki tollgate on Saturday to court, for breaching public peace. The arrested protesters include, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka, Damilare Adenola, Anjorin Joseph, Paul Terkuma and Anisere Sodiq. The protesters were charged at the Magistrate Court of Lagos State, Yaba. In the charge sheet obtained by newsmen, they were charged on three counts including failing to comply with the “Quarantine Law which prohibit any social gathering to avoid spreading and contacting of Coronavirus Disease”. The other charges are “breach of public peace, harassment, and causing unnecessary alarm to the public”. Bruce Springsteen Blew a 0.02 During DWI Arrest — Quarter of the Legal Limit

Last November, Bruce Springsteen was arrested and cited for a DWI, reckless driving, and consuming alcohol in a closed area. However, new information reveals that his blood-alcohol content at the time of the arrest was just 0.02 — a quarter of the legal limit in New Jersey. Springsteen was detained on November 14th at Gateway National Recreation Area, a federal park in New Jersey. According to the Asbury Park Press, a source familiar with the case confirmed that Springsteen’s BAC was nowhere near the number needed to be arrested. In all states except for Utah, it is illegal for anyone 21 years or older to operate a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08 or higher. Ondo Amotekun arrests illegal gold miners

The Ondo State Security Network also known as Operation Amotekun has announced the arrest of persons involved in illegal gold mining activities in the state. The suspects, according to the commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, were arrested at different locations in Owo forest reserves on Sunday. Many Palestinians see a ruling by the International Criminal Court that it has jurisdiction over the Palestinian territories as a belated chance of justice for victims of Israeli attacks. A woman identified simply as Imole, allegedly set an apartment in Idimu area of Lagos, occupied by her sister and members of her family on fire, over an argument over her share of their late father’s four rooms apartment. “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” Rapper Silento Arrested for Murder

Silento, the Atlanta rapper best known for the viral hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)”, has been charged with murdering his cousin. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Silento (born Ricky Lamar Hawk) was arrested by DeKalb police on Monday. Hawk’s cousin, Frederick Rooks, was shot and killed on the morning of January 21st. “After a thorough investigation, DKPD detectives identified Hawk as Rooks’ cousin, and the person responsible for Rooks’ murder,” according police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent. Detectives are still working to establish a motive.
