Despite some crappy things that went down at this year’s Burning Man, police are reporting one of the tamest years in the event’s history in terms of its criminal activity. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office, which works with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to ensure the safety of Burning Man’s attendees, reported just 16 arrests. Former NBA player Iman Shumpert was arrested at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport last weekend for allegedly trying to bring 6 ounces of cannabis through security. The police report from the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety shows police were called to a TSA checkpoint at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday and told there was a “sizeable amount of marijuana” found. A man accused of setting a Brooklyn nightclub ablaze earlier this month has been arrested by U.S. Marshals. The Rash nightclub has only been operating in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood since October of last year. The venue had become a preferred spot among the community’s LGBTQ+ clubbers. But on April 3rd, Rash sustained a fire that reportedly left the property vastly unsalvageable. Now, 24-year-old John Lhota has been identified by security footage and charged with arson. Tool drummer Danny Carey has been arrested for misdemeanor assault after allegedly getting into an altercation at the Kansas City International Airport, Billboard can confirm. Around 7 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 12), law enforcement at the airport received a report of a “disturbance between two males at an airport terminal,” Joe McBride, the senior communications manager at the Kansas City Aviation Department, tells Billboard.
