Arsenal launch transfer bid for Lyon star Houssem Aouar

Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to Ligue 1 outfit Lyon for midfielder Houssem Aouar following a drop in the asking price for the player. According to Le 10 Sport, Aouar could cost the Gunners under a third of the £54 million fee club officials hoped to get in 2020. The 23-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates before the start of the 2020-21 season. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is thought to be keen on the versatile attacker who can play centrally or on the wing. In September reports in France claimed Lyon had turned their noses up at two separate bids from the North London giants of £31m and £34.5m. However, Le 10 Sport says the Gunners have returned with a fresh offer for the midfielder whose current contract with the French outfit runs out in 2023. And it is tho...

A selection of Arsenal fans have not welcomed the prospect of Barcelona goalkeeper Neto joining the club this summer. Ryan is unlikely to rejoin them this summer, and it has recently been reported that the club are still interested in Neto’s services. His agent Kia Joorabchian is working closely to secure the transfer. Some Gunners supporters are unhappy with proceedings. The report claims that Arsenal are still interested in signing the Barcelona goalkeeper, and the player’s agent is working on a move right now. Neto has a contract at Barcelona until 2023. Sport revealed last month that the Brazilian is expected to leave the Spanish club and will cost around €16 million (£13m). Everton are also in the hunt to sign Neto, while Roma are also interested. However, Arsenal have emerged as his preferred destination. Three Arsenal players Patrick Vieira could bring to Crystal Palace this summer

Crystal Palace recently announced the appointment of Patrick Vieira as their new manager, and he has a huge rebuilding job this summer. The Eagles have yet to resolve the futures of 11 out-of-contract players, and there could be plenty of activity in terms of new signings. Vieira is likely to have his say on arrivals, and he could have his sights on pursuing few players associated with his former club Arsenal. We look at three players who could interest the new Eagles head coach. Ainsley Maitland-Niles Maitland-Niles spent the second half of last season on loan with West Bromwich Albion, where he impressed from the centre of the park. It’s unlikely that he would play in his preferred role on his return to the Gunners. The majority of his appearances have come as a full-back. Having struggl...

Marseille will pay an initial €1 million to take Guendouzi on loan, with a further €11m to be paid when the transfer becomes permanent. SL View Guendouzi fell out of favour at Arsenal towards the end of the 2019/20 season after an on-field altercation during a game against Brighton & Hove Albion. Mikel Arteta was unimpressed with Guendouzi’s antics and axed him from his plans. The Frenchman spent most of last season on loan at Hertha Berlin, and his perfor...
