YOSHIROTTEN Officially Unveils “MOON LANDING” at BELOWGROUND

Last month in Hong Kong’s LANDMARK Atrium, YOSHIROTTEN showcased “FLUID GARDEN,” a large-scale and immersive installation that amalgamates digital art with spatial design. Returning to the city again this month, the Japanese multi-disciplinary artist just completed the second phase of his project, where sofas from “FLUID GARDEN” are transformed into “MOON LANDING,” and nestled in the mall’s BELOWGROUND space.In a previous interview with Hypebeast, YOSHIROTTEN briefly explained how his nine sculptural sofas were all made to fit together like puzzle pieces. KAWS Set to Release ACCOMPLICE Plush Doll and Lantern

Fresh off another collaboration with UNIQLO, KAWS is set to partner with AllRightsReserved to release his latest plush figure and an accompanying lantern fixture. For his latest drop, the acclaimed Brooklyn-based artist transforms his lovable ACCOMPLICE character into a plush doll, clad with tonal pink overlays and white gloves. As an edition of 2000, the polyester doll measures roughly 21 inches in height and comes with a NFC chip of authenticity. Looking for a lifestyle accessory to pair it with? KAWS will also release a special ACCOMPLICE lantern, limited to just an edition of 300, which features the character covering its face on the front, while a medley of X hands adorn the rest of the lighting fixture. Woman Buys N.C. Wyeth Painting at Thrift Store for $4 USD

Another thrift store, another come up. At least for a woman in New Hampshire who uncovered an unassuming dusty painting, which experts have determined to be an original work by American painter and illustrator, N.C. Wyeth. A master of light and color, Wyeth is best known for her depictions of the American West, particularly in her works, The Last of the Mohicans (1826) and Treasure Island (1883). The undisclosed buyer purchased the artwork for a mere $4 USD at a Savers store and actually forgot she owned it until recently cleaning up the house. Upon closer inspection, she enlisted the help of a Maine arts conservator, Lauren Lewis, who identified the significance of the piece. Coinciding with the second edition of Frieze Seoul, CIRCA ART has collaborated with South Korean artist Koo Jeong A on custom 3D animations that are currently broadcasting across four screens in the Gangnam District each evening at 08:23 until 30 September 2023.The interactive graphics run for three minutes daily, where a QR code will prompt onlookers to submit their own Smell Stories — a series of questions: such as age, occupation, description of the scent and the city in which it originated from. As the art world descends on Asia this week for the return of Frieze Seoul, mega gallery Pace has announced that it will be expanding its presence within the region by adding a new permanent location in Tokyo. Opening in spring 2024, the latest gallery will be situated in the heart of the city at the burgeoning Azabudai Hills — dubbed a "Modern Urban Village", which will feature a state-of-the-art complex of skyscrapers, intermixed with lush greenery, restaurants, and shops. The Cleveland Museum of Art will unveil a new exhibition that shines a light on China's Jiangnan region, which has served as a cultural powerhouse for the nation, producing many commodities closely associated to China, including jade and silk.
