As a new season rolls around and we pore over the runway shows in search of inspiration for the months ahead, one thing we can always count on is the emergence of a new print trend. The A/W 22 shows treated us to a host of new colours, textures and key pieces to love, but one of the most exciting things to come out of the collections was a print you’re likely to already have in your wardrobe: stripes.  From the Breton top to crochet, pinstriped blazers to rugby shirts, stripes are as much a part of our everyday as the plain white tee, and even if you hadn’t realised it (go ahead, quickly check your wardrobe), there will be some subtly sitting at the back of your closet, more than likely relegated to the lower ranks as the humble print can sometimes feel...

Of course, real leather is inherently a more premium fabric that comes with a matching price tag, so luxury pieces from designer labels can often start around the £700 mark. But on the great British high street, you can still find some beautiful, top-quality (and even responsible) pieces from £100 and up.  So, where’s doing it best this season? While I genuinely believe that anyone can wear absolutely anything so long as they feel comfortable doing so, being petite does present its own unique set of dressing challenges. That doesn’t mean to say that anything is off-limits. It’s fair to say that leopard print has long been a staple in many an It girls’ wardrobe (and if you’ve seen any of Kate Moss’ recent appearances, it’s almost always been in the print), but lately an entire safari of animal prints have been explored, with only one rising to prominence this autumn. I live in Scotland, so suffice to say, I spend much of the year feeling pretty cold. It should come as no surprise, then, that I love coats, probably more than the average person. In my opinion, there’s nothing chicer than wearing a simple outfit with a perfectly executed, impeccably crafted coat over the top. That is why I place so much importance on making the right coat investments. Of course, my collection of coats already includes classic iterations, such as camel robes, leather trenches and checked double-breasted numbers—outerwear heroes I know I can rely on each and every cold-weather season without fail.
