Some wardrobe essentials benefit from being a little roomy. Jumpers with a bit of give in them always seem to wear better, while relaxed shirts can bestow any outfit with an instant injection of cool. The best trench coat is a lifelong keeper. It’s the kind of trusty wardrobe staple you know is ready and waiting whenever you need it, but it doesn’t vie for your attention at all times (or get upset when you shove it to the back of the rail for a few months). It took me a long time to find my holy grail of outerwear.
