I Tried On M&S’s Best-Selling Jeans, and I’m Officially a Convert

After road-testing a number of styles in store and at home, I totally understand the hype. From the ultimate sculpting skinny jeans to stylish wide-legs, you might be surprised  to know that M&S’s denim section basically does it all. Of course, we all have our own preference when it comes to the ol’ blues—so I’ve highlighted my two personal favourites below that suited my shape and style best (I’m 5’2 and a size 10, by the way.) For me, the Mom Jeans were the perfect throw-on and go everyday style, and the Wide-Leg Jeans felt a little smarter and more trend-led. I know I’ll wear these more into the office with a heeled boot, or out to dinner or a date night. The best thing about the entire M&S denim range, though, is that...

Sorry, Ankle Boots—This Is the Shoe Style Set to Take Over in 2023

For the longest time, I only had eyes for block-heel ankle boots; no other boot style got a look in. However, a few years ago, I invested in the first knee-high boots I’d had since my teens, and they were a game changer. Aside from jeans, I very rarely wear trousers. Nine times out of 10, you’ll catch me wearing a midi dress. And after years of enduring chilly calves and not-quite-right hemlines and boot heights, knee boots swooped in and made every outfit (read: dress) I wore so much chicer and more put-together. It’s almost 2023, and I currently have four pairs of knee-high boots in my footwear rotation: an on-trend chunky pair from M&S, which I bought as soon as I saw them on a colleague; a beige suede option from Sézane, which I invested in hopin...

Totême’s Sellout Jacket Just Came Back In Two New Colours—We’re Screaming

Last year, I spent more time than I’m willing to admit thinking about Totême’s draped fringed wool jacket. You know the one—the versatile cover-up with the slightly oversize silhouette, contrast whip-stitched edging and chic, built-in scarf. The one snapped up by so many stylish types, including Monikh Dale, Anouk Yve, and Jessica Skye. For months, I deliberated about purchasing it for myself. Initially, I wanted to analyse how much wear I would get out of it—I don’t buy anything unless I can picture myself wearing it constantly. Once I had confirmed that it would work well with my existing wardrobe, and just as I was about to add it to my basket, Totême unveiled a new colour to consider. It hadn’t occurred to me that I needed anything other than the black iteration. That was unt...

Literally Every Editor I Know Wears This £55 Layering Top When It’s Cold Outside

As much as we hoped we could hold onto Autumn days, it’s clear that there’s no stopping the arrival of cooler weather. As someone that’s always cold, I know that as soon as we drop a degree, I’ll be layering up. So naturally, I’ve been spending the last few days working out how I can stay cosy and warm, all the while maintaining a stylish aesthetic. Impossible? I initially thought so. Then, I stumbled across a key find from Arket, which will help me achieve this.  Did you know that merino wool helps keep you warm by insulating instead of trapping heat? Merino wool fibres have a natural crimp, which allows them to trap dead air and act as an insulator—and a shield against the cold. This, in turn, helps keep your body at a more even and warmer temperatu...

I Haven’t Stopped Thinking About This Sold-Out Totême Jacket—Now, It’s Back

Last year, I spent more time than I’m willing to be honest with myself about thinking about Totême’s draped fringed wool jacket. I’m Obsessed With These 19 Wow Pieces From River Island

A question that often comes up in the Who What Wear office is, “Are you more of a shoe person or a bag person?” It’s like picking between sweet and savoury or discovering you’re left or right handed. In other words, it’s almost innate. Some rare breeds (myself included) like both shoes and bags equally. I’ve always styled my outfits around my shoes, and I can easily be persuaded into a night out not by the promise of a cocktail but by the sparkle of a new rhinestone handbag. I think this time of year is the best for shoes and handbags. There’s the back-to-school vibe of early autumn, which is a great opportunity to refresh your work wardrobe. (What boots do I have my eye on? Which bag will fit my laptop? Are loafers comfortable commuting shoes?) An...

I’m a 40 Year Old Fashion Editor—6 Easy Outfits I’m Relying on This Winter

Over the last few years, I’ve been trying to live more sustainably and although a large part of my job is spent researching trends, scrolling through new-in pages and writing about hot new collections, I don’t actually shop that much. Shocking, I know! That’s mainly because I truly believe in creating a capsule wardrobe full of favourites you can wear all year round, as well as trying to get as much usage out of your wardrobe as possible.  This winter, my wardrobe consists of sweater vests (I’m currently on the look out for a vintage oversized version in navy FYI), which I’ll be layering over shirts and leather leggings, printed midi dresses teamed with oversized blazers, and matchy matchy knitted co-ords. As a Fashion Editor in her 40s, these are the outfits I rely on as ...

Yes, This Cosy Instagram-Famous Cardigan Is In the Cyber Monday Sale

We know by now that Reformation can be relied upon for many wardrobe winners. Things like beautiful dresses you can pull out summer after summer (if it’s good enough for J.Lo, it’s good enough for us), cult denim styles—and now the brand is adding knitwear to that list. In line with their sustainable ethos, Ref recently dropped a conscious cashmere collection that did not come to play. But there’s one particularly cosy piece from the winter-ready edit that has been swiftly picked up by some of the best-dressed people I know—the Fantino cardigan.  Reformation’s Fantino cardigan isn’t your regular cardigan. Firstly, it’s made from 90% recycled cashmere, meaning 87% less of the carbon impact than conventional cashmere but still with “100% of the cuteness”, according to the...

Knee Boots Are the Only Boots I’m Interested in—These 30 Pairs Are Perfect

Year in, year out, as autumn rolls around you can always guarantee two things–one, leather will always come back into fashion, and two, you will see me in knee high boots. Why? There’s a variety of reasons, but there’s something about the style of the long boot that instantly elevates any outfit.  For that reason, knee-high boots are, hands down, my favourite boot silhouette, and although they’ve never officially been out of style, it seems like leather knee-high boots are one of the only styles that matter for autumn/winter 2022.
