Report: Euro giants want £18m Spurs target, club have made contact with player’s agent

Following Norwich City’s relegation to the Championship, the Canaries may have to go through a tough transfer window where some of their star players could leave the club. One of the key players who could be heading towards the exit door is Max Aarons. According to reports from Sky Sports, Euro giants Bayern Munich are looking to sign the highly-rated young right-back from Norwich this summer. The German champions have made contact with the player’s agent already as they look to bolster their right-back areas. Norwich initially were demanding a fee of around €30m, but are likely to sell him at €20m, which stands roughly at £18m. Bayern Leverkusen are also interested but Aarons prefers to join the Munich giants instead. Obviously, it would be a massive step forward for the yo...

Jürgen Klopp reaffirms praise for Thiago Alcantara as Liverpool rumours grow

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has once again responded to Thiago speculation, confirming that he’s a ‘great player’ but remaining coy on any potential transfer developments. The 29-year-old has refused to sign a contract extension at Bayern with just one year remaining on his current deal, and the rumours linking him to a Liverpool switch have only grown stronger in time. “I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment,” he told Sky Germany. “Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say!” To further distance himself from the Thiago links, Klopp confirmed that Liverpool will ‘need time’ before they decide to make any summer transfers. “We have a really good squad, we have ...

Rating Bayern Munich’s chances of European success this season

The German Bundesliga became the first top-five league in Europe to return to action amid the coronavirus pandemic in May and they managed to successfully complete their remaining fixtures for the season. Bayern Munich went on to win their eighth straight league title with a healthy 13-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund. They continued their domination in the DFB-Pokal final, where they beat Bayer Leverkusen by a comfortable 4-2 score in Berlin. The Bavarian giants will be eyeing a second treble in their history when they embark on the final phase of their Champions League campaign next month. The club have not won the elite competition since the 2012/2013 season when they beat Borussia Dortmund in the final. Bayern’s chances of European success: Hansi Flick’s side have been in tremend...

Philippe Coutinho will decide on his future after the Champions League

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho who is currently on loan at Bayern Münich could play against Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League if Barcelona manages to knockout Napoli, and if Bayern defeats Chelsea. Currently, Coutinho wants to just focus on the Champions League. If the forecasts come true, Barça and Bayern will face each other on the 14th. Until the Champions League finishes, the 28-year-old will not decide on his future. The only thing that is certain as it stands is that the Brazilian prioritizes a Premier League return. However, all the clubs that have shown interest in Coutinho (Chelsea, United, Newcastle, Tottenham, and Arsenal) are aware of Barça’s financial needs, so they will not rush a move until the last moment to sign him for a low fee. Barcelona ex...

Pep Guardiola ‘interfered in medical matters’ at Bayern Munich – ex-team doctor

Getty Images Pep Guardiola “interfered in medical matters” at Bayern Munich, according to former team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt, who says the highly-rated coach thought he “knew everything better than I did”. Guardiola was drafted in to replace Jupp Heynckes in the Allianz Arena hot seat in the summer of 2013, inheriting a treble-winning squad brimming with world-class talent. The Spaniard had already established himself as arguably the finest manager in Europe by that time, after assembling one of the greatest teams in history at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012. As expected, Bayern continued to dominate the domestic scene in Germany with Guardiola at the helm, but he was unable to deliver success in Europe. The 49-year-old picked up seven major trophies during his time at the A...

Ranking the Possible Winners of the Golden Boy Award

The nominees for the Golden Boy Award, run by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, are out. Let’s take a look at the best of the bunch. 5. Ozan Kabak He’s gone far under the radar and is a real outside shout, but he’ll probably be glad if he made the top 20. However, in my view, he’s the best centre-back on the list. He has made 56 appearances at the senior level – for Galatasaray (18), Stuttgart (15), and Schalke (23), where he has made 204 clearances – that’s 4.2 per 90 minutes! He’s strong on the ball too, as he completes 52.1 passes per 90 minutes. When you combine those stats with the fact that he has played for a relegated Stuttgart side, and a sub-par Schalke side, you can start to see the quality this man possesses. The Turkish centre-back is a very smart and mature player too, as he ...

Report: Bayern Munich looking to beat Celtic to signature of defender

According to the Daily Mail (via The Scottish Sun), Bayern Munich want Hearts left-back Aaron Hickey and are hoping to beat Celtic to his signature when the summer transfer window opens. The 17-year-old is a wanted man in Europe, with English Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Southampton keen, while Lazio and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on him. Hickey only left Celtic in July 2018 for more playing chances after struggling to break into the senior team. While they have a 30% sell-on clause inserted for any future transfers, the Parkhead outfit want him back following his swift rise at Hearts. The teenager has just a year left on his contract at Tynecastle and will be available for cheap should he decide to move on upon the side’s relegation. While Bayern are a move...
