Bayern Munich could make an approach to sign Chelsea striker Timo Werner this summer, Football Insider reports. The Germany international was regularly linked with Bayern last summer before joining the Blues from RB Leipzig for €53 million. He registered 12 goals and 15 assists from 51 appearances last term but was still disappointing with multiple scoring chances missed. A recent report claimed that Werner is considering his Blues future and could leave the club if they sign a new striker this summer. It was suggested that he would prefer a return to the Bundesliga, and Bayern have now been credited with fresh interest in signing him. The club are eyeing a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski, and manager Julian Nagelsmann is keen on a reunion with Werner. Sportslens view:...
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has no plans of leaving the club amid the recent speculation linking him with Bayern Munich, The Sun reports. The 20-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting role, and he was a regular on the bench for most of the previous campaign. It was recently reported that the Blues could be willing to include Hudson-Odoi as a makeweight to sign Bayern’s Kingsley Coman. Bayern are long-term admirers of the Blues graduate, but it appears that the forward has no plans of leaving the European champions this summer. He has three years left on his current £120,000-a-week deal and is prepared to fight for his place under Thomas Tuchel than move elsewhere. Sportslens view: Hudson-Odoi was regarded as one of the best players coming through the youth ranks ...
Chelsea are planning to offer Callum Hudson-Odoi in a potential part-exchange deal for Bayern Munich attacker Kingsley Coman, L’Equipe reports. Coman had an impressive 2020/21 campaign for the Bavarian giants, registering eight goals and 15 assists from 39 appearances in all competitions. He has another two years left on his contract, but talks over an extension have reached a standstill with Bayern’s hierarchy reluctant to meet his wage demands. Bayern are willing to offer a €4 million raise on Coman’s €9m annual wages. However, he is holding out for a similar package to Leroy Sane, who earns €18m per year. They are not actively looking to sell him but have set an asking price of €90m (£77m). The Blues are hoping to reduce the valuation by offering Hudson-Odoi in excha...
Bayern Munich will be looking to offload their fringe players before the start of the 21/22 season. One of those players is Michaël Cuisance, who faces an uncertain future. According to Webaslan, Turkish club Galatasaray are interested in signing the Frenchman, though Bild reports that Bayern Munich have not received an official offer. Cuisance joined Bayern in 2019 from Borussia Monchengladbach, but struggled to break into the Bayern squad. Bayern have shown their desire to sell the young midfielder, who they consider a ‘difficult character’, and they offered him to several potential buyers in the summer of 2020 before eventually sending him off on loan to Olympique Marseille. The loan expired this summer, but Marseille chose not the activate the €18m option to buy as Cuisance failed to i...

Everton left-back Thierry Small is trying to leave the Merseyside club this summer, reports The Athletic’s Greg O’Keeffe. Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in luring the 16-year-old away from Goodison Park, while Bayern Munich are also monitoring his situation. Small is yet to return to training, missing the full first week under new Everton manager Rafa Benitez and opting to undertake one-on-one training sessions with a private strength and conditioning coach instead. The Toffees have prepared a first professional contract for him ahead of his 17th birthday on August 1, and he had been given a locker in the first-team changing room at Finch Farm. However, everything is pointing towards an exit as it stands. Sportslens View Small became Everton’s youngest ever player when he rep...
New Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has given another show of the tactical flexibility he exhibited at RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim, where he often switched between a back three and back four. He stated his commitment to a back four earlier this week, testing the centre-back pairing of Tanguy Nianzou and marquee summer signing Dayot Upamecano. However, he opted for a different formation in the Thursday training session. He used Nianzou, Upamecano and Josip Stanisic in a back three, with Bouna Sarr and Omar Richards as wing-backs. Much of the Bayern squad is not present in training yet, so the return of key defensive figures such as Niklas Süle, Benjamin Pavard, Alphonso Davies and Lucas Hernandez are likely to change the composition of the defensive line-up quite a bit. Nagelsman...
Bundesliga clubs and other German sports venues will be allowed to welcome up to 25,000 spectators from next month, the city of Berlin said on Tuesday after a meeting of officials from Germany’s 16 states. Most matches in Germany’s top football league were played behind closed doors last season because of the Covid-19 virus. The new Bundesliga season starts on August 13 and with infection rates having fallen sharply, sports stadiums could be at 50 percent capacity, with the total number per match or event capped at 25,000. The only exception is reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, where up to 20,000 fans will be allowed into home games at the 75,000-capacity Allianz Arena because officials in Bavaria are allowing only 35 percent of capacity. The new rules apply until September 11 a...
