Blade Runner 2099 Sequel Series Coming from Ridley Scott and Amazon Studios

The replicants keep replicating: Blade Runner 2099, a live-action sequel series to Denis Villeneuve’s stellar 2017 film Blade Runner 2049, which itself was a follow-up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 masterpiece Blade Runner, is in the works at Amazon Studios. Deadlinereports that Scott will be executive producing, which the man himself had all but confirmed last November when he said the pilot had been written. Now we know the scribe responsible: Silka Luisa, who is currently serving as showrunner for the Starz series Shining Girls starring Elisabeth Moss. Ridley Scott Reveals Pilot for Blade Runner TV Show Has Been Written

Ridley Scott had a surprise for fans during an interview with the BBC on Monday (November 22nd), revealing his beloved sci-fi classic Blade Runner is currently being adapted as a TV show. While he was on the topic, the director also gave an update on a previously announced Alien series. “We’re already into having written the pilot for Blade Runner and the bible. So, we’re already presenting Blade Runner as a TV show, which will probably be the first 10 hours,” Scott said on BBC’s Today radio program. Watch clips from the interview below the jump.
