Kygo and Ryan Tedder Unite As Animated NFT Band, Bored Brothers

As electronic music artists continue to adopt NFTs to offer fans unique experiences, industry heavyweights and Bored Ape owners Kygo and Ryan Tedder are now making a collaborative foray into the Web3 space.  Kygo and the OneRepublic frontman are longtime creative collaborators, writing on a number of tracks and even performing together on Coachella’s main stage in 2018. They’ve now joined forces to launch Bored Brothers, an animated NFT band featuring their Bored Ape likenesses.  For those unfamiliar, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is the world’s preeminent collection of digital collectibles, currently selling for over $300,000 each. The NFT collection counts Madonna, Mark Cuban, Steve Aoki, Justin Bieber and Paris Hilton—among many others—as token holders and ...

ApeCoin eyes 250% rally amid ‘bull pennant’ breakout, Robinhood APE listing rumors

ApeCoin’s (APE) market valuation could grow by nearly 250% in the second quarter of 2022 as it breaks out of a widely-tracked, classic technical pattern. APE price “bull pennant” breakout underway On April 13, APE’s price broke above the upper trendline of what appears to be a “bull pennant” chart pattern. Bull pennants appear when the price consolidates inside a triangle-like structure following a strong uptrend. Many traditional analysts consider them as continuation patterns, for they typically result in the price breaking out in the direction of its previous trend. As a rule, traders estimate a bull pennant’s upside target by measuring the size of the previous uptrend, called “flagpole,” and adding it to the breakout point. Applying...

BAYC’s ApeCoin up 50% this week as its creator raises $450M in new funding

ApeCoin (APE) continued its rebound move Thursday as the firm behind it raised hundreds of millions of dollars in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. APE’s price surged 7.5% intraday to reach around $14.50 per piece. Notably, the token’s upside move came as a part of a retracement rally that started at the beginning of this week when it was changing hands for as low as $9.50. That pushed APE’s week-to-date profits up by 50%, making it one of the best-performing digital assets since March 21. APE/USD daily price chart. BuzzFeed backlash after ‘doxxing’ of Bored Ape Yacht Club founders

American Internet media and entertainment company Buzzfeed has revealed the identities of two of the four original Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection founders “Gordon Goner” and “Gargamel” as being Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow in real life. Journalist Kate Notopoulos authored the Feb. 4 article, which was entitled “We Found The Real Names Of Bored Ape Yacht Club’s Pseudonymous Founders.” Notopoulos was able to uncover the pair’s identities by search the publicly available records of Yuga Labs, the company behind the collection. Yuga was incorporated in Delaware with an address associated with Greg Solano, and other records pointing to Wylie Aronow. Got doxxed against my will. Oh well. Bored Ape Yacht Club is a huge mainstream hit, but is Wall Street ready for NFTs?

Within months after its launch in April 2021, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has become one of the main reasons Wall Street should take the emerging nonfungible token (NFT) market seriously, thanks to its recent sales turnover of over $1 billion. Celebrities ape into BAYC For the uninitiated, BAYC is a collection of 10,000 cartoons of anthropomorphic apes with stylish clothes and disreputable expressions. Each ape is practically an image file that should be worthless in a sane world. Nonetheless, they have been managing to fetch astonishing sums, sometimes from some of the world’s most renowned celebrities. For instance, Jimmy Fallon, a popular American TV host, bought the image of a Bored Ape that wore a striped T-shirt and heart-shaped shades for almost $220,000 in November ...

Timbaland Creates Bored Ape Yacht Club Metaverse Entertainment Brand

AIP’s Bored Apes will function similar to digital idols like Miquela, who acts as a front-facing digital performer for songs. Those who opt to purchase these AIP NFTs will gain access to exclusive perks, including merchandise, events, studio sessions, custom art and concerts, all contained within the metaverse. To bring these static NFT characters to life, AIP has enlisted the help of BRON Digital, which uses Epic Games’ Unreal Engine technology. This is actually the second bit of Bored Ape Yacht Club-related music news to arrive in just the past two days. On Thursday, UMG’s 10:22PM label announced it had formed the NFT “supergroup” KINGSHIP, which is also comprised of Bored Ape Yacht Club characters. Both projects arrive as interest in Web3 and...

Music’s Latest Supergroup Is an NFT Project With Cartoon Apes

In a press release, the KINGSHIP project is billed as a “landmark, first-ever exclusive agreement to create a metaverse group.” Under the initiative, the team behind 10:22PM — a Web3, creator-focused record label founded by Celine Joshua — will develop and release new KINGSHIP music and products. Akin to pre-existing virtual idols like Miquela (or perhaps even a band like Gorillaz, who hid their human identities behind animated characters), KINGSHIP will be the front-facing digital performer used to cultivate a community and fanbase around the music. Jimmy McNeils, an avid NFT collector who goes by the username j1mmy.eth, is supplying the Apes for KINGSHIP from his personal collection, including the rare Golden Fur and Bluebeam characters. The initiative t...
