AC/DC is all charged-up for another U.K. chart title. The Aussie rock legends lead the midweek albums chart with Power Up (Columbia), their first LP in six years. At this stage, it’s no contest. AC/DC’s 17th album is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined, and is on track to become the year’s fastest-selling album. With 47,000 chart sales, look for Power Up to eclipse the year’s best, set last week (54,905 combined sales) by compatriot Kylie Minogue’s Disco (BMG), which dips 1-4. {“nid”:”9483673″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”Kylie Minogue's 'Disco' Blasts to No. 1 In U.K.”,”relative_path”:”\/articles\/news\/9483673\/kylie-minogue-disco-no-1-uk\/”,”media”:{“widthR...

Round Hill Music Royalty Fund’s initial public offering fell short of its $375 million target (it raised $282 million at $1 per share), which had been earmarked to buy a catalog of song publishing valued at $363 million — but there are contingency plans. According to its Oct. 19 prospectus, the publishing company anticipated the possibility of a gap and planned alternate options, including buying just a portion of the planned catalog acquisition instead of the whole thing. What’s more, Round Hill now has until Oct. 18, 2021, to issue the 83 million remaining shares, should market conditions support further fundraising toward the $375 million target, according to another contingency provision in the prospectus. {“nid”:”9482919″,”type”:”p...
In years past, Steve Chilton had often considered opening his Phoenix venue, The Rebel Lounge, as a coffee shop with friends and Driftwood Coffee owners Luke Bentley and Lance Linderman. The space — which has hosted artists including Jimmy Eat World, Lucky Daye and Soccer Mommy — typically sat dormant during the day, and he had the room, but with promoting shows as Psyko Steve Presents and near-daily sound checks, the idea never came to fruition. {“nid”:”9334875″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”How Independent Venues Are Dealing With Large-Gathering Coronavirus Bans, Inevitable Loss of Small Rooms”,”relative_path”:”\/articles\/business\/touring\/9334875\/independent-venues-coronavirus-gathering-bans\/”,&...

Here’s how it would work, if approved: After purchasing a ticket for a concert, fans would need to verify that they have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert. The length of coverage a test would provide would be governed by regional health authorities — if attendees of a Friday night concert had to be tested 48 hours in advance, most could start the testing process the day before the event. If it was a 24-hour window, most people would likely be tested the same day of the event at a lab or a health clinic. Once the test was complete, the fan would instruct the lab to deliver the results to their health pass company, like CLEAR...
