Courteney Cox Returning for Scream Reboot

Gail Weathers will be chasing headlines again in the forthcoming Scream reboot from Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Courteney Cox has signed on to reprise her iconic role for a fifth time. Cox joins her on-screen bae Dewey Riley, aka David Arquette, who confirmed his involvement in May. Although it’s expected that Neve Campbell will follow suit, the heroine of the blockbuster horror franchise has yet to officially commit. As previously reported, Ready or Not filmmakers Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct the fourth sequel. They’ll be working from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not). Even better, the original film’s screenwriter Kevin Williamson will serve as executive producer. Dave Franco Will Star as Vanilla Ice in New Biopic

Dave Franco will step into the parachute pants of Vanilla Ice for an upcoming biopic. Born Rob Van Winkle, Vanilla Ice’s popularity peaked in the ’90s as a one-hit wonder with gravity-defying hair. His “Ice Ice Baby” became the first hip-hop single to top the charts, simultaneously pushing rap music into the mainstream while proving that white people have questionable taste. Franco revealed that he’ll star as Van Winkle in a new interview with Insider. He suggested that the movie is “inching closer to preproduction,” and that he has been in contact with Vanilla Ice himself.  “Rob is such a sweet and intelligent guy and he’s been super helpful in the process of getting all the details correct and making us privy to information the public doesn’t know,” Franco said. “Just talk...

Ryan Gosling to Howl as The Wolfman for Universal

Start howling, folks: Ryan Gosling is about to get a whole lot hairier. According to Variety, the Hollywood hunk has signed on to play the Wolfman in what will be the next Universal Monsters reboot to come from Universal. Details are scarce as of press time, but sources tell the publication that Universal has been meeting with directors over the past month. Nothing’s confirmed at the moment, but Bad Education director Cory Finley is said to be in the mix. Orange is the New Black writers Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo penned the screenplay that’s based on an idea by Gosling. In fact, sources are touting Nightcrawler as an influence, which is interesting. It goes without saying that the film follows this year’s incredibly successful reimagining of The Invisible Man, which direct...

Timothy Olyphant Joins The Mandalorian Season 2

The Force is strong with Timothy Olyphant. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadwood star has joined the Star Wars galaxy by signing on for the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. As of publication, there’s no word on who he’ll be playing, but given Olyphant’s hunky looks and trademark wit, we’re kind of, maybe, okay, we totally are, hoping he’s playing Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire. That may be wishful thinking, but seeing how we’re seeing Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, it’s not exactly out of the question. At the very least, it would connect that Star Wars legend. Whatever the case, Olymphant joins a stacked cast that also includes The Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn in an undisclosed role. We’ll also take Biehn as Renda...

Temuera Morrison, Actor who Played Jango Fett, Joins The Mandalorian as Boba Fett

It’s the worst kept secret in the galaxy, but Boba Fett did not die in that sarlacc pit. Now THR is reporting that the notorious bounty hunter will appear in The Mandalorian Season 2, and he’ll be played by a familiar face (helmet?): Temuera Morrison, who scowled his way through Attack of the Clones as Boba’s clone dad Jango Fett. At one point, Disney and Lucasfilm were developing a Boba Fett standalone movie, but that project got canned after Solo disappointed. It’s no surprise that they managed to work the fan-favorite character back into the timeline, and indeed, obsessive Star Wars fans will argue that Boba Fett has already returned. (Spoilers to follow, but then, you already clicked on an article with a spoiler right in the title, so don’t complain now.) ...
