West Ham sign Armstrong Oko-Flex from Celtic

West Ham United have signed Celtic attacker Armstrong Oko-Flex. The 19-year-old winger – who is equally adept playing in a more central role – has penned a two-year contract with the Club, with the option to extend this for an additional year. Oko-Flex moves to east London at the expiration of his contract with Scottish Premiership side Celtic, for whom he made two senior appearances earlier this year. “I feel very good to have signed,” Oko-Flex, who had trialled with the Hammers at the end of last season, told West Ham TV. “It’s good to sign for a big club like West Ham United. “I’m very excited to get started here. There are a lot of positives around West Ham and it’s just a great Club to be at right now. “I know a lot of the boys here already. I trained with some of them when I was youn...

League One club set to beat Celtic in race for SPL goalkeeper

Ipswich Town are set to beat Celtic in the race to sign Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist, according to Football Insider. The 29-year-old was impressive in the Scottish Premiership last season as he won the club’s player of the year award. He played a key role in helping the club to finish eighth in the Scottish top-flight last season and thus avoid relegation in their first season back up. Siegrist also boasts the distinction of having kept an impressive 12 clean sheets last season. This is especially impressive when he was not surrounded by the most gifted players that one can expect to find in the Scottish Premiership. The report added that Ipswich have submitted a bid for the player and that a fee of around £350 000 is close to being agreed. With Dundee not expected to ch...

West Ham United plotting move for 23-year-old with 28 goal contributions last season

West Ham United could revisit their interest in signing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer, Football Insider reports. The Hammers were heavily linked with the Frenchman last month, but it appeared that Leicester City had beaten them to his signature. However, there has been a surprise change of events over the past few weeks, and the Foxes have cooled their pursuit of the 23-year-old. The Midlands outfit have instead reached an agreement with Red Bull Salzburg for Patson Daka, and the player has agreed personal terms. It is now reported that the Hammers could return for Edouard’s services as they aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season. Sportslens view: Edouard struggled for consistency last term but still registered an impressive tally of 22 goals and six assis...

Scotland boss Steve Clarke has confirmed that Kieran Tierney is “fit and available” for their Euro 2020 clash with England. Tierney was forced to miss Scotland’s Group D opener against the Czech Republic after picking up a knock in training. The Arsenal defender saw his country suffer a damaging 2-0 loss in his absence, but Clarke is ready to welcome him back into the fold for their vital meeting with the Three Lions at Wembley on Friday. Asked for an update on Tierney’s condition at a pre-match press conference, the Scotland head coach told reporters: “Everybody fit and available, including Kieran. “It’s good news for Kieran, it’s good news for us, it’s good news for the Scottish supporters, so hopefully we can back all that up with a good result. “He’s trained fully the last two days, so...

30-goal striker ‘very keen’ on Celtic transfer, talks planned this week – report

Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke is very keen on joining Celtic when his contract expires at the end of the month, Football Insider claims. Wyke had a superb 2020/21 campaign with the Black Cats, registering 30 goals and five assists from 53 appearances in all competitions. He netted 26 times in League One, but the Wearside outfit still missed out on promotion after being beaten by Lincoln City in the play-off semi-final. Wyke will be available on a free transfer when his current deal expires on June 30, and there is said to be plenty of interest in signing him. The striker is ‘very keen’ on joining the Hoops to test himself in the Scottish top-flight. However, a number of Championship big guns are also interested in him. The 28-year-old has been identified as potential replacement for Odso...

Celtic aiming to beat Arsenal to signing of Premier League star with 58 international caps

Celtic are aiming to beat Arsenal in the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mat Ryan this summer, Football Insider reports. The Australia international fell out of favour with the Seagulls during the first half of last season, where Robert Sanchez jumped ahead of him in the pecking order. He was subsequently loaned out to the Gunners in January. Ryan made only three appearances for the north London club as the back-up shot-stopper. They are keen on re-signing him permanently, but the Hoops are aiming to beat them by offering Ryan a long-term contract and the number one role. Ryan has just one year remaining on his Brighton contract, and he could be available for a fee between £3-5 million during the summer transfer window. Sportslens view: Ryan barely played for the Gu...

Celtic are reportedly considering a move for Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan this summer.  According to reports from Sky Sports, the Bhoys are eyeing a move for the 29-year-old goalkeeper who is expected to leave the club. After a disappointing 2020-21 campaign, Celtic are looking to rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou. Signing a new goalkeeper is a priority for the Hoops and Postecoglou is keen to work with Ryan again following their time together with the Australia national side. At this moment, no formal discussion has taken place between both parties. His contract at Brighton is up next summer, and a move away from the club is likely. The 29-year-old wants to be a first-choice keeper at his next club, and therefore he is weighing up his options carefully before decid...

Report claims Celtic chiefs have held talks with 45-yr-old regarding managerial vacancy

Celtic are reportedly closing in on the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager. However, Daily Record have claimed that the club also held talks with Rui Faria’s representatives regarding the managerial vacancy. The former Jose Mourinho assistant is currently a free agent after leaving Qatari outfit Al-Duhail. He has worked with Mourinho at several top clubs for around two decades but took on the challenge of being a manager after the Portuguese was sacked by Manchester United. Faria is inexperienced as a manager, and he would represent a major gamble if Celtic decided to bring him in this summer. Postecoglou is a much safer bet after proving himself at both club and international level during his career. The report from Daily Record adds that Celtic are optimi...
