Kacey Musgraves Covers Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”: Stream

From golden hour to blue suede shoes, Kacey Musgraves has taken her pop-country sound backwards in time and shared a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The song appears on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” first appeared on Presley’s Blue Hawaii (1961), though its origins are much older, having been written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss from themes in the 1784 French ballad, “Plaisir d’amour.” Musgraves’ version is stripped back, forgoing the original’s heartbeat percussion and swooning choir, the better to put all the emphasis on the melancholy keys. There’s lots of reverb on her voice, making it sound as though she’s singing alone in a large, empty house. Her take on “Can’t Help Falling in Lov...

Springsteen proceeded to wish Macca “80 more years of glory days” before playing the classic Born in the U.S.A. anthem. The two then teamed up to perform The Beatles’ “I Wanna Be Your Man.” Watch the on-stage collaboration go down below. Ozzy Osbourne Is “Doing Well and On the Road to Recovery” After Surgery to “Determine the Rest of His Life”

Ozzy Osbourne takes a licking but keeps on ticking. The Prince of Darkness is “doing well and on the road to recovery” following major surgery, reports his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne. Last week, Sharon revealed that Ozzy was set to undergo a “very major operation” on Monday (June 13th) that was “really going to determine the rest of his life.” It is assumed that the surgery was related to correcting structural damage that the metal icon had suffered in a fall in early 2019. At the time, Ozzy dislodged metal rods and pins that were placed in his body after a 2003 ATV accident. The singer himself had recently mentioned that a previous surgeon “f**ked up” and that he needed additional neck surgery, as he couldn’t “walk properly these days.” In a statement posted to Twitter on Tuesday (...

Ozzy Osbourne to Undergo Surgery That Will “Determine the Rest of His Life”

Ozzy Osbourne is set to undergo an operation on Monday (June 13th) that will “determine the rest of his life,” reports his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne. Sharon revealed the news on her UK show The Talk (not affiliated with the US show of the same name from which she was ousted last year), telling her fellow panelists, “[Ozzy] has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there. It’s really going to determine the rest of his life.” She added that she would be flying back to Los Angeles to be by Ozzy’s side. While Sharon did not go into specifics, Ozzy himself mentioned late last year that he needed one more operation on his neck after the previous surgeon “f**ked up.” The metal icon injured himself in a 2019 fall at home, dislodging metal rods that were inserted into his body ...

Christine McVie Says Cocaine and Champagne Made Her Perform Better

From infighting to drugs, Fleetwood Mac have long been a notoriously messy band, but looking back, singer-keyboardist Christine McVie doesn’t seem to regret any of it. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the artist even proclaimed that she thought her drugs of choice, cocaine and champagne, made her perform better. “I have to say I’m not guilt-free in that department but Stevie and I were very careful,” McVie said, when asked if she had any “blanks” in her memory from years of partying. “The boys used to get provided with cocaine in Heineken bottle tops onstage, but Stevie and I only did the tiny little spoons. I suppose sometimes we got a bit out-there, but we were quite restrained, really.” She added, “I always took fairly good care of myself. My drug of choice was cocaine and champ...
