The tour kicks off September 16th in Toronto and runs through an October 9th show in Chicago, with tickets currently available via Ticketmaster. The original Alice Cooper band’s 2015 reunion show, titled Live from the Astroturf, is getting a physical and digital release on September 30th. The October 2015 performance is the stuff of legend and subject of the documentary of the same name. Record store owner and superfan Chris Penn invited the original band — dissolved since 1974 — to play a show at his Good Records in Dallas. It was billed as a book signing by bassist Dennis Dunaway, but the packed store of fans were instead treated to a clandestine reunion gig. Alice Cooper, guitarist Michael Bruce, Dunaway, and drumer Neal Smith were joined on stage by Alice’s current guitarist Ryan Roxie, who was standing in for the late Glen Buxton. The setlist would feature the band’s early ’70s hits such as “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “I’m Eightee...

Neil Young has announced his new live album with Promise of the Real, Noise & Flowers, due out August 5th via Reprise Records. The studio set will revisit the singer-songwriter’s 2019 tour across Europe with the backing band in the wake of his longtime friend and manager Elliot Roberts’ passing. It will be available on CD, a 2xLP vinyl pressing, and a Blu-ray deluxe edition as a concert film. Pre-orders are ongoing. “Playing in his memory [made it] one of the most special tours ever,” reminisces Young in the LP’s liner notes. “We hit the road and took his great spirit with us into every song. This music belongs to no one. It’s in the air. Every note was played for music’s great friend, Elliot.” Advertisement Related Video To celebrate the announcement, Young also unveiled the live musi...
From golden hour to blue suede shoes, Kacey Musgraves has taken her pop-country sound backwards in time and shared a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The song appears on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” first appeared on Presley’s Blue Hawaii (1961), though its origins are much older, having been written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss from themes in the 1784 French ballad, “Plaisir d’amour.” Musgraves’ version is stripped back, forgoing the original’s heartbeat percussion and swooning choir, the better to put all the emphasis on the melancholy keys. There’s lots of reverb on her voice, making it sound as though she’s singing alone in a large, empty house. Her take on “Can’t Help Falling in Lov...

Springsteen proceeded to wish Macca “80 more years of glory days” before playing the classic Born in the U.S.A. anthem. The two then teamed up to perform The Beatles’ “I Wanna Be Your Man.” Watch the on-stage collaboration go down below. Earlier this month, Springsteen crashed Coldplay’s concert at MetLife Stadium to perform “Working on a Dream” and “Dancing in the Dark.” Next year, Bruce and ...
