Cable News Network, Inc. (CNN) has protested against its invitation by the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry to appear before it on Saturday, December 12, 2020, (today), over the alleged killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters by soldiers in October. Anderson Cooper Dunks Trump With “Obese Turtle” Jab During Broadcast

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Anderson Cooper represented the exasperation of several people across the nation awaiting a result to the presidential election. However, the CNN host took a jab at the defiant President Donald Trump, calling him an “obese turtle in the process. The swipe happened during a Thursday night broadcast shortly after President Trump held a news conference from the White House briefing room, addressing the nation by suggesting voter fraud was afoot hence the delay of an announcement and full declaration of a new president-elect. Cooper apparently had enough of the former business mogul’s talk. “That is the President of the United States,” Cooper said in response to the conference. “That is the most powerful person in the world and we see him like an obese turtle on his ...

European Union backs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for WTO role

The European Union has endorsed former Nigerian finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the next director-general of the World Trade Organisation, Bloomberg reported. The business news outlet cited anonymous officials familiar with the matter that all the 27 EU member countries agreed on Monday in Brussels to support Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala. Bloomberg also reported that the United States has decided to back Yoo Myung-hee, South Korea’s trade minister, for the role. The position has been fiercely contested amongst candidates of different countries since Roberto Azevedo resigned in August. Last month, Okonjo-Iweala and Myung-hee were selected as the last two candidates in the contest. The EU’s endorsement is seen as a significant boost for Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy, with the final winner expected...

CNN Anchor Brings The Receipts For Black Trump Support Who Denies The Orange Overlord Is Racist

Source: Pacific Press / Getty Why these news networks continue to interview these people we never know, but as long they continue to waste time in doing so, they need to continue to hold them accountable on-air. Wednesday (Sept.30) on CNN, T.W. Shannon, the co-chair for Black Voices for Trump (yes, this really exists), made a complete fool out of himself on national television. Anchor Brianna Keilar tried her best to get an answer out of the Trump bootlicking coon when she asked him why  Donald Trump “did not condemn white supremacists” and basically weaponized the Proud Boys during his disastrous “debate” performance with Joe Biden on Monday. Like every Trump stumper, Shannon responded with a lie claiming that agent orange said he would condemn white supremacy “three times,” Kielar r...

CNN Slams President Donald Trump For Made-Up 9/11 Stories

Source: Anadolu Agency / Getty President Donald Trump thinks highly of himself despite a long-running record of failures, lies, and media manipulation. CNN aired a segment on Friday that’s sure to get under his skin after the network pulled up the former business mogul’s actions after 9/11 on the anniversary of the fateful day. CNN anchor John Avlon, speaking in detail about the aforementioned anniversary, compared a number of Trump’s 9/11 claims next to the truth, exposing what shouldn’t be shocking to keen observers. In the opening segment alone, Avlon points out Trump humbly bragging that his building at 40 Wall Street became the city’s tallest building in the aftermath of the plane attack on the World Trade Center. Avlon then debunked the claims Trump made that he was at Ground Zero of...

George Floyd: Protesters set US police station ablaze

A police station in Minnesota went up in flames late Thursday in a third day of demonstrations as the so-called Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul seethed over the shocking police killing of a handcuffed black man. The station, which police had abandoned, burned after a group of protesters pushed through barriers around the building, breaking windows and chanting slogans. A much larger crowd demonstrated as the building went up in flames. The crowd was protesting the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, who died after Minneapolis police arrested him on Monday on suspicion of using a counterfeit banknote. Police handcuffed him and held him to the ground, with a bystander video showing an officer pressing his knee on Floyd’s neck. The videos showed Floyd saying that he couldn...

No masking it: Joe Biden eyes stark contrast with Donald Trump over virus

Joe Biden squared off with Donald Trump on Tuesday over the wearing of masks one day after the White House challenger emerged from coronavirus-imposed lockdown donning one while the president attended two events bare-faced. By wearing a mask at a Memorial Day ceremony in Delaware — and by changing his Twitter profile to a photograph of him donning the black covering — Biden signalled he is putting the coronavirus front and center during the US presidential race in a nation increasingly divided over the pandemic. After the president mocked him for his protective mask, Biden hit back, blasting Trump as an “absolute fool.” It appeared to mark a new front in the war of words between the rival politicians. Trump also attended a somber Monday ceremony honoring America’s fallen, in Baltimore. Ins...

Naomi Osaka using lockdown to conquer inner demons

Two-times Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka is using the novel coronavirus shutdown as one of self reflection to try and overcome her crippling shyness. The tennis season was suspended in early March due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the hiatus will continue until at least mid-July with many countries in lockdown to contain the virus. Japan’s Osaka, who trains in the United States, the country worst affected by the flu-like virus with over 1.4 million infections and more than 83,000 deaths, is taking advantage of the extended break to do some soul searching. “I think people know me as being really shy… I want to take the quarantine time to just think about everything, and for me, I have a lot of regrets before I go to sleep,” Osaka told CNN Sport. Petra Kvitova said last year Osaka would hav...
