Nigerian Army to boost Operation Lafiya Dole with propelled artillery guns
The Nigerian Army said on Saturday that plans are underway to boost the ongoing operation in the North-East codenamed “Lafiya Dole’ with newly commissioned Vehicle Ultra-Light Carriage Artillery (VULCAR) and Self Propelled Light Guns into the Army. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, while officially commissioning multiple projects in Kachia, Kaduna, said the development was part of efforts to boost the fight against insurgency in the North-East. Lekki shootings: Nigerian Army legal team submits report to General Buratai
The legal team set up by the Nigerian Army to represent the service at the ongoing Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the alleged shooting of protesters at the Lekki Tollgate has submitted its report to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai. The team, led by Akinlolu Kehinde, said the Nigerian Army was not under any form of trial over the alleged shooting at the Lekki Tollgate. The team has as members, the Director Legal Services of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General M.U. Wambai, Samuel Agweh, Biola Oyebanji and Colonel Michael Ede. The Chief Of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has warned that the army would not allow subversive and unscrupulous elements to destabilise the peace and stability of Nigeria. The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, said that Buratai made the remarks during a meeting with Principal Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and field commanders on Monday in Abuja. Musa briefed newsmen on the outcome of the meeting at a news conference. COAS unveils Nigerian Army Compendium, presents awards to deserving officers
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Saturday, presented to the public, a compendium of the Nigerian Army, detailing operations of the Army under his watch from 2015 to 2020. The book, “The Compendium of Nigerian Army Transformation: The Buratai Years 2015 – 2020,” was unveiled at the Faskari Super Camp IV, in Katsina state.
