292 Army officers to sit for senior staff course qualifying exams in Kaduna
A total of 292 army officers are to sit for the 2020 Senior Staff Course qualifying examination (SSCQE). The examination would hold at the Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre (ICC), Lt-Gen Ihejirika auditorium, Jaji Kaduna State. Newsmen report that examination is conducted by Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and is expected to last for one week. The examination’s President and Commander TRACDOC, Maj.-Gen. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Sunday deployed additional 32 special forces to support Operation Safe Haven being executed by the military to restore normalcy to southern Kaduna. Nigerian Army to investigate attack on Borno governor’s convoy
The Nigerian Army is to investigate Wednesday’s attack on the convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, disclosed in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. Musa said that the governor’s convoy came under terrorists fire while visiting Baga town. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar, has commissioned a two blocks of single officer’s quarters at the 305 Special Mobility Group on Tuesday in Calabar. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed how traffickers of illicit drugs have been circulating cocaine, heroin, cannabis and other psychotropic substances in Borno amid the COVID-19 lockdown. NDLEA State Commander Mr Joseph Icha told newsmen in Maiduguri on Monday that traffickers of illicit drugs no longer stay at identified dark spots where the operatives of the agency often raid them. ‘We observed that the traffickers of drugs used the opportunity of loopholes during the total lockdown to start a massive movement of drugs across the state,’ he disclosed. Thirteen people, including two babies, were killed on Tuesday when gunmen stormed a maternity hospital in the Afghan capital Kabul, an interior ministry spokesman said. “The fatalities also include mothers and nurses,” spokesman Tareq Arian said.
