Lagos Police command deploys 1,000 officers for Edo election
The Lagos State Police Command has deployed 1,000 officers to complement other security personnel drafted for the Edo governorship election scheduled for Sept. 19. Police kill 15 bandits, arrest 50 suspects in Katsina
The Police Command in Katsina State has killed 15 bandits and arrested 50 suspected kidnappers, bandits and cattle rustlers terrorising the people of the state. Mr Sanusi Buba, the Commissioner of Police in the state, disclosed this during a press briefing on Thursday in Katsina. Buba said that the suspects were arrested in variou ambush operations carried out by the command in different locations. He said that the police recovered nine AK 47 rifles, 20 dane guns, 20 motorcycles and two vehicles from the suspects. Police nab man for attempting to cut off woman’s breast
Police in Anambra State have arrested a 41-year-old man, one Ogbonna Nwankwo, for attempting to kill a 29-year-old woman, and cut off her breast at a motel in Ihite town, Orumba South Local Government Area of the state. The State Police PPRO, SP Haruna Mohammed, who disclosed this in a statement, said the incident happened on the 2/9/2020 at about 8 am, and that the duo involved reside in the same Ihite town. The Rivers State Police Command has directed Commanders of all Tactical Units to commence arms mop-up exercise across the state. Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Joseph Mukan in a statement, said the decision to carry out the arms mop-up was in line with the directive by the Inspector General of Police rid the country of illegal possession of firearms. The Police in Ekiti State have arrested a lady, Mary Idris, for allegedly faking her own kidnap on August 9, 2020, with a view to extorting money from her parents. Two members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Napoleon Spiff and Zachariah Levi George have been reported missing after they attended an event at the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall in Port Harcourt. Rivers State NYCN Chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo, who disclosed this said the youths have been missing for four days. Spiff is the Chairman of the NYCN in the Rivers East Senatorial District, while Levi George is the National President of the National Union of Rivers State Students. Police detain inspector accused of raping widow over face mask

The Police Command in Kano State says it has begun investigations into the death of a 22-year-old jilted lover, Ashiru Danrimi, who allegedly committed suicide.
