Coronavirus: Schools to remain close till January 18 – PTF
The Federal Government has said schools in the country would remain shut till January 18, 2021. The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this at a press briefing in Abuja on Monday. Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, also announced the closure of bars, night clubs, pubs, event centres, and recreational venues for the next five weeks. He further urged religious centres to maintain 50 per cent capacity at all times and as well as ensure strict compliance to Covid-19 protocols at all gatherings. Germany is planning to close most shops from Wednesday until Jan. 10 as it tightens coronavirus restrictions and tries to rein in the spread of the disease, according to a draft government proposal seen by Reuters on Sunday. Rapper Ladipoe tests positive for coronavirus
Rapper Ladipo Eso, popularly called Ladipoe, says he has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease. Laipoe made this known on his Instagram story on Thursday, saying that he just received the results of his COVID-19 test. He also disclosed that his symptoms are mild and that he is okay. NUC directs universities to conclude resumption arrangements as Nigerian government gives nod
The National Universities Commission has directed Universities to conclude arrangements for their reopening following the decline in the number of Coronavirus Disease cases in Nigeria. The directive, the NUC said, followed the nod given to it for universities to reopen by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education. Nigeria confirms 476 new virus cases
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), has confirmed 476 new cases of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak in the country. The NCDC confirmed this through its official Twitter handle on Thursday. The agency said that seven deaths were recorded in the country. NCDC said that till date, 50,964 cases have been confirmed, 37,569, discharged and 992 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. According to it, the 476 new cases are reported from 18 states. It said that Lagos has the highest figures of 235 cases, followed by FCT with 44 cases. FCT confirms 14 new cases of coronavirus, one death
The Federal Capital Territory has confirmed that 14 new cases of coronavirus disease have been recorded in Abuja. The FCTA made the confirmation in a tweet via its Twitter account on Tuesday. According to the Administration, one new coronavirus death was also recorded in the territory, with 18 patients discharged after showing full recovery from the viral infection.
