HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Grace Cary / Getty A New Jersey woman is currently facing two felony charges after selling over two hundred fake vaccination cards via her Instagram page. Jasmine Clifford faces two felonies related to the scam along with an additional misdemeanor conspiracy charge, and another woman also faces charges for entering false records in the state of New York’s immunization database. WABC in New York reports that Clifford, 31, was among 15 people charged in the vaccine card conspiracy. Among the group, Nadayza Barkley, 27, assisted Clifford by entering at least 10 names into the aforementioned database by way of her job at a medical clinic in Patchogue, N.Y. The charges were laid out in Manhattan criminal court with prosecutors sharing via documents on Tuesday ...

Michael McDonald to Miss Reunion Concerts with The Doobie Brothers Due to COVID-19

Fans have waited 25 years for Michael McDonald to reunite with The Doobie Brothers. And while a few lucky concert goers got to see them together in August, the rest of us will have to wait a little longer, because as the band has indicated, he’s come down with COVID-19. McDonald pulled out of the August 31st concert at the Minnesota State Fair, as did the opening act Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The rest of the Doobie Brothers performed as planned, and after the second song, Patrick Simmons provided some insight. “He’s recuperating and isolating,” he said of McDonald (via the Star Tribune). “We hope to have him back in a week or so.” He added that the singer “had his vaccine.” Advertisement Related Video Tom Johnston was quick to point out that the entire band and their touring crew had al...

Joe Rogan Caught COVID-19 and Took Unproven Horse Dewormer Ivermectin

A few months after doing an about face on his vaccine stance, Joe Rogan has said he caught COVID-19 while on tour. And because he’s what we’ll call a “counter-mainstream” podcast host, of course Rogan took the unproven horse dewormer ivermectin as part of his treatment regimen. What, he couldn’t get his hands on some hydroxychloroquine? If you haven’t heard, ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medication mainly used to treat horses but also, in smaller doses, to fight river blindness and intestinal roundworms in people. Now, obviously, a virus is not a worm, so why anti-vax and right wing personalities have latched onto ivermectin as a possible cure for COVID-19 is down to more of the usual “don’t be a sheep” herd mentality. Of course, Rogan is a hugely successful and wealthy comedian, so woul...

Rosie O’Donnell to Host 9/11 Conspiracy Film Screening

Rosie O’Donnell is putting the ‘O’ in ‘Oh, for fuck’s sake.” The comedian and conspiracy theorist has partnered with the notorious group Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth to present a screening of The Unspeakable, which purports to reveal the real story behind the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The Unspeakable showcases interviews with several of the people who had been featured in Spike Lee’s HBO documentary New York Epicenters: 9/11-2021½, but who were subsequently cut following a public uproar. The filmmakers behind The Unspeakable refer to these cranks as “experts,” who were “censored.” After the screening of The Uproar, O’Donnell will interview family members who believe a shadowy conspiracy — perhaps the governm...

Over 1,500 Malicious Resources Are Targeting Potential Crypto Investors in Africa

Image sourced from Shutterstock. Globally, cryptocurrency mining malware wreaked havoc in 2018, infecting more than five million people in the first three quarters of that year. Recent Kaspersky’s research shows that in some African countries, the threat of malicious crypto miners remains prevalent. Currently, in South Africa, the share of all users targeted by malicious crypto miners in H1 2021 was 0.60%. In Kenya, the share of all users targeted was 0.85% and in Nigeria, 0.71%. “Although these percentages may be interpreted as low and may not seem significant to users, crypto-miner malware has been identified as one of the top 3 malware families rife in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria at present,” says Bethwel Opil, Enterprise Sales Manager at Kaspersky in Africa. Kaspersky believes thes...

Gene Simmons Tests Positive for COVID-19, Forcing KISS to Postpone More Tour Dates

Just days after his KISS bandmate Paul Stanley tested positive for COVID-19, Gene Simmons has contracted the virus, as well. The band announced today (August 31st) that the singer-bassist is experiencing mild symptoms and that at least four additional shows on their current farewell tour will be postponed. Simmons’ positive test comes just as Stanley reported that he was feeling much better, tweeting last night, “My COVID symptoms were MILD compared to many others and let me tell you… It kicked my ass. It’s over now.” When announcing Stanley’s positive test result last week, KISS had revealed that all band members and crew were vaccinated, but now both Stanley and Simmons have experienced breakthrough cases. The new statement reads as follows: “KISS will postpone their next four tour dates...

Rammstein’s Till Lindemann Questioned by Russian Police Prior to Festival Cancellation

Rammstein singer Till Lindemann was questioned by Russian police prior to the cancellation of a music festival in the city of Tver. Lindemann was booked to play the festival, which reportedly would have violated COVID-19 protocols. Exaggerated reports circulated this weekend claiming that Lindemann had been arrested by police. Rather, police only visited the Rammstein singer’s hotel on Saturday night. According to German newspaper Bild (via DW), the purpose of the meeting was to make sure Lindemann complied with COVID regulations while performing in Tver. Ultimately, the event was canceled outright. However, Lindemann’s manager, Anar Reiband, does face charges after allegedly violating Russia’s migration laws. When initially entering the country, Reiband apparently claimed the purpose...

Korn’s Jonathan Davis “Struggling with COVID After-Effects,” Sits on Throne While Performing

Korn singer Jonathan Davis is still “struggling with COVID after-effects,” according to guitarist Brian “Head” Welch. Davis recently performed with the aid of a throne to sit in during a concert this past Friday (August 27th) in Tinley Park, Illinois. It marked Korn’s return to the road after Davis revealed his positive COVID test on August 16th, resulting in the postponement of six shows and the cancellation of two concerts on the band’s current US tour. The metal vocalist is clearly still feeling the effects of the virus, which can cause longterm, lingering physical and mental issues long after an individual tests negative. Fan footage from Friday’s Illinois show and Saturday’s Noblesville, Indiana, concert sees Davis sitting on a shiny throne, which is just as decadent as his H.R. ...

Neil Young on COVID-Era Concerts: “These Are Super-Spreader Events”

Neil Young has taken a strong stance against concerts being held during the COVID-19 era. In a blog post on the Neil Young Archives, he called upon big concert promoters to stop putting on shows, calling them “super-spreader events.” “The big promoters, if they had the awareness, could stop these shows,” Young wrote, after praising Garth Brooks for canceling his 2021 tour dates. “Live Nation, AEG, and the other big promoters could shut this down if they could just forget about making money for a while… They control much of the entertainment business. They hold the power to stop shows where thousands congregate and spread. It’s money that keeps it going. Money that motivates the spreading. The big promoters are responsible for super spreaders.” Whether or not you agree with Young, the veter...

Paul Stanley Tests Positive for COVID-19, At Least One KISS Show Postponed

KISS have announced that singer-guitarist Paul Stanley has tested positive for COVID-19. The band has postponed its concert tonight (August 26th) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and it is likely more dates will be affected, as well. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act revealed the news just moments before the concert at the The Pavilion at Star Lake was set to begin. The statement made it clear that Stanley and his bandmates have been vaccinated: “Tonight’s KISS show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA is unfortunately postponed due to Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID. More information about show dates will be made available ASAP. Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated. The band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to saf...
