NFL athletes have been complaining big time since the league made life extremely hard for unvaccinated players stopping short of mandating them to take it. Minnesota Vikings quarterback and Trump fan, according to Raw Story, Kirk Cousins is one of those hardheaded players. Despite having to quarantine after being considered a close contact to an infected player, Cousins still won’t get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus that is wreaking havoc around the globe thanks to the highly contagious and more dangerous delta variant. Add to that a pandemic that has led to even further restrictions and the need to embrace digital ways of doing business becomes clearer. Historically, digital transformation has been a process that happens over the course of several years. COVID-19 has dramatically accelerated that timeline. Companies were forced to adapt in order to survive, with financial services having to evolve quicker than most. That’s because every business relies on payments and ...

Ibiza Officials Are Seeking Out Informants to Flag Illegal Parties for Law Enforcement: Report

Struggling to mitigate a recent surge in COVID-19 cases under control, authorities in Ibiza are turning to an unlikely group of people for assistance—tourists.  Visitors to the island between ages 30 and 40 may be uniquely positioned to assist in the effort, provided they’re willing to party, of course. Law enforcement is currently in discussions to put together a task force of party-goers who will infiltrate illegal gatherings and parties from the inside and flag them for police to respond.  Since law enforcement personnel are recognizable to locals, Ibiza officials are reportedly seeking support from outside its borders to help with the problem. As The Guardian notes, most of the island’s illegal gatherings take place within private residences, and being able t...

Why A Future-Proof Data Centre Environment is Key to Digital Transformation

Image sourced from Capacity Media. According to a recent report, Africa needs 700 data centre facilities to meet the growing demand for capacity and density in today’s digitally-driven operating environment. This is easier said than done given the power, land, and water requirements of modern data centres. And yet, this has become a non-negotiable at a time when cloud adoption has accelerated and become a top business priority. “These mission-critical facilities require resilient infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted services that enable business, operations, and systems to function effectively and continuously – especially given the ongoing lockdown conditions still experienced in many African countries, but for a post-pandemic future too,” says Peter Hodgkinson, Managing Director, WSP, ...
