Rapper Ladipoe tests positive for coronavirus
Rapper Ladipo Eso, popularly called Ladipoe, says he has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease. Laipoe made this known on his Instagram story on Thursday, saying that he just received the results of his COVID-19 test. He also disclosed that his symptoms are mild and that he is okay. He wrote: “I recently received the result of my COVID-19 test and it was positive. “I have been in Isolation for about ten days now because due to the state of the country, this Monday was the earliest I could get tested. “My symptoms have been mild and I’m getting better. “Please continue to take necessary safety precautions and protect yourself and young ones when you’re out there. “Not everyone has mild symptoms; this is definitely something to be taken seriously.” Get more stories like this on...
FANA: Ethiopia proposes holding postponed vote in May or June 2021
Ethiopian authorities have proposed holding a postponed election in May or June 2021, state-affiliated broadcaster FANA said on Friday, setting the stage for a test of support for Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s sweeping economic and political reforms. The government postponed a parliamentary election scheduled for August this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) says that it has rescheduled the 2020 edition of the Lagos International Trade Fair. Dr Muda Yusuf, Director-General of LCCI, said that the fair which was scheduled to hold from Nov.5 to Nov. 15, 2020 has been rescheduled for between Dec. 4 to Dec. 13, 2020 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos; both physically and virtually simultaneously. The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on Thursday called for an end to all forms of medical tourism especially by elected and appointed government officials. AIB signs MOU with France, Saudi Arabia, recommends prevention measures on airspace safety
The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France and Saudi Arabia on airspace safety. AIB however said that research and other investigative activities on the agreement could not be implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The agency is also working in collaboration with the National Transport Safety Board in the U.S. and Singapore as well as Republic of Benin, the ECOWAS Commission and its member states. Nigeria records 133 new virus cases, 3 more deaths
Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 133 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of infections in the country to 62, 224. Three more deaths were also recorded, taking the total fatalities from the disease to 1,135. This is according to an update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday night. The 113 new cases were reported from 12 states. These are Lagos (51), FCT (15), Plateau (11), Kaduna (8), Oyo (8), Rivers (8), Ogun (4), Edo (2), Imo (2), Kwara (2), Delta (1), Kano (1).
