Electric Forest is Giving Away a Pair of Wristbands to Support Independent Detroit Venues

While the fate of the Electric Forest 2021 hangs in the balance, the festival is doing its part to support local venues and artists amid a pandemic that simply won’t relent. Organizers are giving away two wristbands to the next edition of the beloved Rothbury, Michigan music fest to raise awareness for “ALIVE Detroit,” an upcoming virtual benefit concert for independent Detroit venues and artists. Dilla’s Delights Doughnut Shop Closed In Detroit

Source: @dillasdelights / Instragram Dilla’s Delights, a Detroit doughnut shop launched in homage to late, great producer James “J Dilla” Yancey has close. However, its owners are hoping to relocate. According to the Detroit Metro Times, the establishment has closed permanently at its location at 242 John R Road. The announcement was first made by Dilla’s uncle Herman Hayes aka “Uncle Herm” via Instagram on Monday, Jan. 11. “It’s official that the Doughnut Shop is closed in that location,” said Uncle Herm. “We don’t quite no which direction we’re going to in and where we’re going to be but we’re working on some things. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating calls that seek to discourage people from voting, a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security told reporters on Tuesday. Spot gold rose 0.3 percent to $1,910.56 an ounce at 3:37pm, New York time, after falling as much as 0.5 percent. Pfizer, BioNTech dose U.S first participants of trial coronavirus vaccine

Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE announced on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, that the first participants have been dosed in the U.S in the Phase 1/2 clinical trial for the BNT162 vaccine program to prevent COVID-19. The trial is part of a global development program, and the dosing of the first cohort in Germany was completed last week. The Phase 1/2 study is designed to determine the safety, immunogenicity and optimal dose level of four mRNA vaccine candidates evaluated in a single, continuous study. The dose level escalation portion (Stage 1) of the Phase 1/2 trial in the U.S will enrol up to 360 healthy subjects into two age cohorts (18-55 and 65-85 years of age). Electronic music pioneer passes on

Florian Schneider, the co-founder of pioneering German electronic band ”Kraftwerk”, has died of cancer. His death was confirmed by his friend, co-founder of Kraftwerk Ralf Huetter who said he died from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday. Schneider and Huetter founded Kraftwerk in 1970 after meeting at a music academy in Duesseldorf, Germany. They are widely recognised as among the first to popularise electronic music with commercial success. With mesmerising tracks like ”Autobahn”, their work has influenced generations of pop and dance musicians.
