Dillon Francis Drops Empowering New Single “Be Somebody” With Evie Irie

Dillon Francis is here to represent all those who have ever felt ostracized due to their ambitions. To do so, he’s joined forces with rising songstress Evie Irie to unveil their new anthem “Be Somebody,” out now via Casablanca Records. Together they’ve created the perfect track to rage-sing your heart out to.  Francis shared in a press release the inspiration behind the track, stating that it is “an ode to all the people that told me I was just a class clown and wasn’t gonna make it.” Well, the jokes on everyone else because he’s definitely made it. To deliver the punchy message, he lays out a spirited soundscape filled with airy guitars and soaring synths. The production works seamlessly with Irie’s empowering vocals, which s...

Listen to a Preview of Dillon Francis’ Supercharged Upcoming Single Featuring Evie Irie

Dillon Francis is dropping a new single on short notice. The producer posted a sneak peak of the forthcoming track on Twitter yesterday, showing the single features none other than “The Optimist” singer-songwriter, Evie Irie.  Perhaps the writing was on the wall when the two artists were seen together on Halloween. The two pulled off an epic partner costume from The Matrix with Francis as Neo and Irie as Trinity. Now the chosen ones have come together to craft “Be Somebody,” a melodic trap single with powerful vocals and a high-energy drop. Incidentally, the supercharged single caught the attention of Netsky, who seemed to be feeling the new tune. Dillon Francis responded on Twitter asking if the drum ‘n’ bass sage had an interest in ...

Watch Dillon Francis Pump Iron and Juggle Pineapples in His “Bored In The House” Remix Video

One unanimous feeling quarantine has brought us all is boredom. Tyga and Curtis Roach summed up the phenomenon perfectly with their viral hit “Bored In The House,” creating the anthem we didn’t know we needed for all those days stuck looking at a wall. Seven months later and the track still rings true, but now it has gotten a special EDM remix and a hilarious music video from Dillon Francis that should hold us over for the dreaded next leg of lockdown.  Francis takes the original hook and transforms it by pitching it down and lacing it over a bouncy house rhythm. The accompanying music video shows the producer doing just about anything to pass the time, including miming and playing cards with his longtime pal Gerald. Turn this track on and have yourself a private dan...

Dillon Francis Drops Dancefloor-Ready Remix of ZHU and Kito’s “Follow”

Back in August, ZHU‘s intoxicating summertime anthem with Kito and Jeremih, “Follow,” arrived via Astralwerks. In September, they dropped a music video for the track featuring dancers from Beyoncé‘s musical film Black Is King. A little over two weeks later, Dillon Francis has been enlisted to rework the tune. Dillon Francis’ remix of “Follow” curates a feeling similar to watching the seasonal transition between summer and fall. It’s far more somber than the original, forgoing the colorful piano chords that guide listeners through the track and replace them with a subtle melody alongside Jeremih’s hopeful vocals and minimal percussive elements. While the original drew upon the feeling of never-ending su...
