It looks like that upcoming Mr. and Mrs Smith reboot with Phoebe Waller-Bridge isn’t the only thing Donald Glover has in the works at Amazon Prime. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glover has signed a multiple-year, eight-figure deal with Amazon — and apparently he’s brought Malia Obama (!) onboard as a staff writer for one of his first projects there. This deal has reportedly been in the works for weeks now. The multi-talented actor will be starring in a remake of Mr. and Mrs. Smith alongside actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge that’s set to drop next year via Amazon Prime. Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have signed on to star in a new episodic reboot of Mr. and Mrs. Smith for Amazon Prime. The series is a new take on the 2005 feature film which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple who learn that they are assassins belonging to competing agencies, and that they have been assigned to kill each other. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project stems from Waller-Bridger’s overall deal with Amazon Studios. Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo) is on board as a co-creator and showrunner.
