After kicking off the festival of lights with a rousing cover of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin returned for the second night with a bit of a surprise selection: Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” “You might be surprised to learn that this superstar is… Canadian. He’s never hidden the fact that he was M.O.T. … so a generation of Jewish parents could tell their kids “if Drake took the time to study for HIS Bar Mitzvah, you can too.” Ladies and gentlemen…challah at your boy….DRAKE!” the duo said of the song. If you ever wanted to see Grohl sing Drake lyrics and dad dance with a menorah, you’re in luck and you can see it happen below. On Brand: Drake Is Really Selling Drake-Scented Candles

Source: PYMCA / Getty Is there any artist more self-aware than Drake? The 6 God is now selling “Drake-scented” candles, and it couldn’t be more on brand. The Toronto rapper has never been one to try to pose too tough beyond his bars, and the constant singing and melancholy tunes has shown he has no problem embracing his emo-side. That’s a side stereotypically attuned to images of bubble baths and candles, so it only makes sense that the “Marvin’s Room” rapper is now officially in the candle game. As first reported by InStyle, a brand called Better World Fragrance House has not so quietly revealed it is launching five “ultra lux candles.” You may remember that Drake gifted the then-new NBA champion Toronto Raptors’ players with candles that had personal messages on them, which in hindsight ...

The Most Influential Artists: #32 Drake

As part of our 35th-anniversary, we’re naming the most influential artists of the past 35 years. Today, we’re at #32. From Toronto, Ontario, Canada, here’s Drake. CREDIT: Paras Griffin/Getty Images You can easily compare Aubrey Graham to one of those automatic baseball-pitching machines. Every throw somehow lands exactly where he wants it.  Drawing from Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak playbook, Drake’s first move was his 2009 breakout So Far Gone, a mixtape that truly “sounded like an album,” as opposed to, well, a mixtape. And while his signature sing-rapping smashes haven’t since found their way onto equally great albums — with Take Care a major exception — Drizzy could be modern music’s most consistent hit-maker. Attempting to even list his top five is impossible — there really is...

Take Care: Drake Recovering From Knee Surgery

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Fans are sending well wishes to Drake after finding out about his serious knee injury.  On Saturday (Oct. 31), the rapper shared two photos on Instagram Story of his visibly swollen knee securely strapped into a leg brace, sparking a fury of speculation on social media.  The first image revealed his elevated leg in dim lighting with the succinct caption, “New challenge unlocked.”  The Toronto native deleted the image and posted a new one, this time with better lighting to show off a Louis Vuitton blanket resting under the leg accompanied by a more inspirational caption.  “I actually want to use this post to send love and motivation to anybody else that 2020 let loose on,” he said with Netflix paused in the background. “Start writing the best b...

T.I. Confirms Rumors Of His Homie Cap Urinating On Drake’s Foot

Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty T.I. just released his 11th studio album The L.I.B.R.A., and one of the songs from the track makes mention of an incident featuring Drake. On the track “We Did It Big,” Tip raps about a friend of his urinating on Drizzy’s foot but it’s not the big act of disrespect that some have attempted to paint. Featuring John Legend, and produced by OgTha3, MXV, C Gutta & Ben Harvey, the song finds Tip looking back on the older days and shouting out his fallen soldiers such as Philant Johnson while also mentioning the tense times of his days in the trap. During the second verse “We Did It Big,” the line regarding Drake and his good friend Cap that everyone has been discussing is featured. “So much I can say about my n*gga Cap/Life as I know it, it started that day/I...

SZA Confirms In Tweets That Drake Isn’t A Creep After He Rapped They Dated In 2008

Source: Phillip Faraone / Getty Whew, that’s a relief, is what some Drake fans are saying after SZA revealed their favorite rapper wasn’t out here being a creep. Drizzy had fans talking last week when he revealed he and SZA used to date her over a decade ago on the track “Mr.Right Now” off 21 Savage’s and Metro Boomin’s latest project Savage Mode reportedly prompting her to hit the unfollow button. But, that was not the only thing that raised the listener’s eyebrows. Based on the dates, if the two were dating at the time, some believed that it suggests that Drake was about 22-years-old and SZA was between 17-18 at the time. “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait/’Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.” SZA paid attention to the socials and broke her silence on the matter and clearing ...

Drake Shares A Picture of Adonis Going To His First Day of School

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Feels like just yesterday Pusha T shocked the Hip-Hop world when he revealed that Drake was hiding a child from the world and the world from his child. Since then Drizzy has owned up to being that baby’s father and while we’re not entirely sure just how involved he is in baby Adonis’ life, he’s recently shared a new pic of his first child going to his first day of school. With his blond hair cornrowed to the back of his dome, Chrome Heart gear and all-black Air Force 1’s, little Adonis seems ready to stunt on his peers just like his multi-platinum daddy does on his. Heck, he’s even rolling up to school in a black SUV like a baby don. Most of us grew up taking public transportation. Remember train and bus passes with the hologram on em? An obviously proud Drake se...
