Purity Ring are the latest to announce 2021 tour dates, which they’ve shared alongside the video for their track “sinew”. The song comes from WOMB, the synth-pop duo’s first album in five years that was released just before the pandemic struck. Swedish dream pop artist Lykke Li has released a new single in her native language. “BRON”, which translates to “BRIDGE” in English, marks Li’s first original offering since her 2018 album so sad so sexy. Li wrote the track in collaboration with Ludwig Göransson, a Swedish producer and music composer known for his Oscar-winning work on Black Panther and Emmy-worthy score for The Mandalorian. Bloomington, Indiana dream pop band Hoops have broken up in response to sexual abuse allegations against former member James Harris. Harris is accused of sexually assaulting a girl, identified as Megan, when she was 17 years old and he was 21. According to the accuser, Harris was also sleeping with a 15-year-old girl around the same time. Rising Los Angeles songwriter McCall has shared the dreamy new single “One Eye Open”. It’s off her upcoming EP, On Self Loathing, due out sometime later this summer. McCall first began to break out with her 2019 EP Under the Reign. She specializes in what she calls “sad bops with spice,” and that certainly applies to her new offering. “One Eye Open” is fashioned around achingly personal lyrics and pared-back piano. Meanwhile, the studio effects — or her “spicy” ingredient — find McCall sounding like a kid in a candy store.
