Last month, ††† (Crosses), comprised of Chino Moreno (Deftones) and Shaun Lopez, released their first new original songs in eight years. The tracks “Initiation” and “Protection” are just a taste of what’s to come, as the duo plan to unveil more music in the coming months, after inking a deal with Warner Bros. Records. The first sign that Crosses were back in the studio came in late 2020, when the outfit unveiled a cover of the Cause and Effect track “The Beginning of the End.” A year later, a cover of Q Lazzarus’ “Goodbye Horses” followed, along with news that more music was coming soon. Daft Punk Streaming Rare Live Performance from 1997 and ‘Homework’ Deluxe Edition
Surprise! To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Daft Punk’s debut album Homework, a rare recording of the duo performing maskless in 1997 will stream on Twitch beginning at 5:22 p.m. ET / 2:22 p.m. PT. The recording in question is taken from Daft Punk’s December 17th, 1997 gig at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles as part of their “Daftendirektour.” Today’s Twitch stream is billed as an “exclusive and time limited piece of content” that will only be shown once. Daft Punk have also released a digital deluxe edition of Homework featuring 15 remixes, nine of which were previously unavailable on streaming platforms. A new Sydney concert attraction sends listeners adrift to the sounds of electronic music. In this case, we mean “adrift” quite literally. The only place the music in “Floors Of Heaven: Submersive Study” can be heard is underwater. Electronic music artist Leon Vynehall soundtracks the event, held at Woolloomooloo Bay’s Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool, to the relaxing sounds of ambient music. Attendees float on the water’s surface with ears submerged; their only means of exposure to the sounds of Vynehall, whose ambient serenade broadcasts via a special underwater sound system. Museum of Modern Electronic Music Opening In April 2022
A first-of-its-kind museum dedicated to all things electronic music is opening in Frankfurt in 2022. The Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM) is being touted as the first of its kind to explore the history of dance music. It will feature seven sections comprising performance areas and installations, each of which explore the impact of electronic music on art, fashion, and technology. The museum will also examine the influences of a myriad of sub-genres, such as ambient, drum & bass, house, techno music.
