Manchester City prepare an enormous bid to sign Erling Haaland

Manchester City have not been firing all cylinders this season in the Premier League, partly due to Sergio Aguero’s injury issues. Although the Sky Blues have managed to sort out their defence with the arrival of Ruben Dias from Benfica and the revival of John Stones. However, their lack of goals upfront remains an issue and relying on just Raheem Sterling to consistently find the net for the rest of the season could be a serious issue. Having said that, reports from GOAL now state that Manchester City are plotting a move that could absolutely revolutionize their attacking front three. The report states that the Sky Blues are considering signing Erling Haaland next summer. Haaland would be the ideal signing given the fact that Aguero has already regressed this season with injuries and his ...

‘We are talking about it yes’: Arteta claims £27m Arsenal player could leave in January

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that William Saliba could leave the Gunners on loan in the January transfer window. The Gunners lost 4-1 in the Carabao Cup clash against Manchester City on Tuesday night, where Arteta gave chances to several young players. However, Saliba – who joined the club for a reported fee of £27m in 2019 from French side Saint-Etienne – wasn’t included in the squad. When asked why he didn’t feature, Arteta responded that the club has taken the decision to not include him even though he was eligible to play in the EFL Cup. He added that the club is looking to loan him out next month. Arteta said about Saliba, as quoted by Football London: “He cannot be involved because he’s not in the squad. “No we made the decision with him and we will ...

Report: Leeds want 24-yr-old PL attacker admired by Bielsa, could cost over £40m

According to 90min, the Spaniard was close to signing a new deal with Wolves at one stage but those talks have stalled and he is yet to commit his long term future to the club. Apparently, the Premier League club are annoyed with the fact that the player has not signed an extension. The report further claims that Adama Traore...

Can Anyone Actually Challenge Liverpool This Season?

Last season wasn’t much of a pulse-raiser for the neutrals. Throughout the campaign, Liverpool dominated the Premier League, with the biggest threat to their title ambitions being the COVID-19 pandemic. It was, all things considered, a bit boring. The beginning of the 2020/21 season gave the watching fans hope of an enthralling title race this time around. Jurgen Klopp’s men showed some signs of weakness after a humbling 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, before star defender Virgil van Dijk picked up a season-ending injury. But alas, the Reds recovered in fine fashion. The last week has seen them secure a vital late win over Tottenham Hotspur, as well as a dominant 7-0 victory against Crystal Palace, leaving them four points clear at the top of the table on Christmas day. So, are we ...

From FA cup winners to relegation candidates: What’s gone wrong for Arsenal?

Last season, Mikel Arteta managed to inspire a somewhat average Arsenal side to FA Cup glory. Arsenal backed up this triumph by beating champions, Liverpool, in the Community Shield. It appeared as though Arteta could be the man to emulate Wenger and bring success back to the Emirates. Arsenal fans had a renewed sense of optimism and belief. But as the saying goes – it’s the hope that kills you. When Arsene Wenger finally decided it was time to say goodbye at Arsenal; it was obvious that there would be big changes at the club. Wenger’s Arsenal were so consistent, they were often snubbed as boring by rival fans. However, Wenger’s replacement, Unai Emery was anything but consistent. Emery was not well-liked by Arsenal fans and in the end his sacking was inevitable. He left with Arsenal in a ...

Arsenal players face 25% wage-cut if the club is relegated from the Premier League

Arsenal’s first team players face a 25 percent wage-cut if the club is relegated to the Championship, according to the Daily Mail. The Gunners currently spend more than £150 million every year on player wages. If they were to get relegated from the Premier League, the wage bill would drop by £37.5 million. The practice of including clauses in players’ contracts in order to safeguard the clubs’ interests in the event of relegation is common practice at smaller clubs who usually face a realistic threat of going down. It is noteworthy that the North London side, the third most successful club in English football and part of the traditional Big Six, have planned for the possibility of relegation by including pay-cut clauses in the contracts of their players.  It is unclear if the entire p...
