Sevilla chief Monchi reveals transfer stance on Chelsea target Jules Kounde – report

Sevilla sporting director Monchi has revealed the club’s stance on Jules Kounde amid the transfer interest from Chelsea. The Blues have identified the Frenchman as their prime centre-back target, but it appears that a deal is unlikely at the moment. The club made an opening bid of around €55 million last week, but it fell short of Sevilla’s reported valuation between €65-70m. Monchi has now revealed that the club will no longer negotiate. The Blues must trigger the €80m release clause to sign Kounde today. He said in his deadline-day press conference: “The only offer from Chelsea for Kounde was last Wednesday for an amount we didn’t like.” “It was not enough for us. We responded with a counter-offer which had a deadline of Friday, to allow us to be able to sign a replacement...

Newcastle United: A club on the verge of civil war

Newcastle United are in trouble. 25 minutes into the second home game of the new season saw fans turn on the players and the manager. It isn’t a surprise and has been coming for two years. A fractured, divided football club embroiled in a civil war will not maximise its strengths, one of which is the home crowd roaring the team on. A takeover by a Saudi Arabian owner would have made Newcastle a mighty powerhouse. However, it has not gone through, so Mike Ashley – who has spent the last 14 years antagonising, upsetting and frustrating fans – remains firmly in place. Only one player, midfielder Joe Willock, has been signed this summer and the core of the squad is the same one that has battled against relegation for the last four seasons. The appointment of Steve Bruce in 2019 was met wi...

Crystal Palace are expected to complete the signing of Odsonne Edouard today, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. The two clubs were poles apart in the valuation of the player, and although Arsenal reduced their asking price to £15 million, Palace felt it was still over the top. They swiftly turned their attention towards Edouard, who is now all set to leave Celtic today. The Frenchman has been their best player in recent seasons, but the Bhoys are looking to cash in with his contract coming to an end next summer. Romano has claimed that it’s a ‘done deal’ scenario and that personal terms have been agreed. The player will undergo his medical this morning. Odsonne Edou...

The Toffees have been linked with a move for the Porto winger Luis Diaz as well but a move for the Colombian has not materialised yet. Everton and West Ham in the race to sign 24-yr-old attacker who will cost £17m

Everton and West Ham United have all been linked with a move for the Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga. According to Footmercato via GFFN, the 24-year-old is valued at €20 million and the two Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on his situation. The likes of West Ham and Everton could certainly use more quality in the wide areas and Boga could prove to be a useful addition for them. The former Chelsea winger has improved massively since his move to Sassuolo and he has the quality to succeed in the Premier League. Boga barely had an opportunity to showcase his potential at Stamford Bridge and the player will probably feel that he has unfinished business in England. The winger is yet to reach his peak and a reported €20 million asking price could look like a bargain if he manages to adapt to th...
