A Daft Punk Helmet LEGO Submission Could Enter Official Production

Daft Punk‘s helmets may soon be mass-produced in LEGO brick form.  In January 2021, one ambitious LEGO modeler named Eliot O’Brien submitted a product idea inspired by the enigmatic robots themselves. With enough support from the LEGO community, O’Brien’s submission could end up in a store near you. LEGO IDEAS is a product submission platform whereby imaginative LEGO builders and 3-D modelers have an opportunity to showcase their creations. For the chance to be reviewed by the LEGO team and potentially receive an official product launch, submissions must first reach at least 10,000 supporters. O’Brien’s Daft Punk submission flawlessly nails the presentation on Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homen-Christo’s iconic helmets to the pixel. Perching b...

New PC App Turns Your Nintendo Console Into an 8-Bit Synthesizer

An innovative app developer recently managed to unlock some hidden value in the Nintendo Entertainment System, a console discontinued decades ago.  For those who’ve managed to hold onto their consoles, or buy a reissued version, Avicr has a new app that empowers players to turn their classic systems into a functioning synthesizer. Titled SynthNes, the app effectively allows users to control the system’s five dedicated audio channels NES’s with a MIDI instrument of your choosing. The reason why this works on the old-school Nintendo specifically is because the NES was part of an era in videogame history where consoles were sold containing dedicated sound chips. In the 1980s, CPU and storage technology was in its most primitive form, and the way music was produced in vi...

GRiZ and Big Gigantic to Release Reggae-Infused Dubstep Collaboration

GRiZ and Big Gigantic are once again ready to let the good times roll. The two have become a celebrated joint creative force over  the years, and following up on their recent record “Daily Routine” from GRiZ’s Rainbow Brain album, bass music’s funkiest producers are back at it. That being said, however, what’s coming next appears to be a different beast. Late last year, fans began to inquire into an ID GRiZ had begun rinsing out on tour, a track characterized by a grinding, saw-like dubstep bassline.  It’s tough to tell based on the brevity of the clip, but it’d seem GRiZ and Big Gigantic are taking their next release back to an era where reggae and dubstep were on a full collision course. Known in some circles as Reggaestep, th...

Pete Davidson Quits Social Media Again, Mr. Don’t Bully Me Kanye West Takes Credit

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: James Devaney / Getty Looks like Kanye West might’ve scored a minor victory in his uncalled for war on Kim Kardashian’s new beau, Pete Davidson. After weeks of taking all kinds of fire from Ye including disses on records and even rumors about him having an STD, Pete Davidson apparently fired back at Kanye West on Instagram… and then deleted his page altogether. Page Six is reporting that it all started after Pete Davidson posted a clip of Robert De Niro as wannabe comic Rupert Pupkin in Martin Scorses’s 1981 film The King of Comedy in which he recited the line, “Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime.” Seems innocent enough, but y’all know social media and immediately fans began to speculate that it was a dart thrown at Kanye West ...
