New York Mayor Eric Adams Proposes To Ban Drill Music From Social Media

New York Mayor Eric Adams is seeking to ban drill music from social media platforms. In a recent speech regarding the death of 18-year-old drill rapper Jayquan McKenley/Chii Wvttz, who was shot and killed in Bed-Stuy earlier this month, Adams stated that he will sit down with social media companies and remind them that they “have a civic and corporate responsibility.” He continued, “We pulled Trump off Twitter because of what he was spewing, yet we are allowing music displaying of guns, violence — we’re allowing it to stay on these sites.” Adams also revealed that he was made aware of the genre when his son Jordan Coleman, who works for JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation imprint, sent him videos. “I had no idea what drill rapping was, but I called my son and he sent me some videos, and it is alarming,” th...

Suge Jacob Knight, the son of Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, shared his thoughts on Snoop Dogg’s recent acquisition of the famed record label. Speaking to TMZ, Jacob stated that “it’s a victory for the West Coast” and that he is happy just like everyone else. “I’m just happy it’s coming back to the West Coast,” he said. “And now, hopefully we can start winning because we lost Nipsey [Hussle], we lost Kobe [Bryant] — I mean, we lost a lot of things even after my dad went to jail, we started losing.” He added that his father is not “punching the air” with Snoop’s new ownership of his record label, clarifying that they understand the business, “Eazy-E and my pops was cool. Jordan Peele has announced his new film called NOPE. Peele’s latest entry in the horror genre arrives July 22, and stars Get Out lead Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice), Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld), and Brandon Perea (The OA). Peele wrote and directed the movie, which seems to take place on a desolate film set subjected to a mysterious, supernatural invasion. Universal Pictures describes NOPE as an “expansive horror epic” that ponders the question: “What’s a bad miracle?” Check out the trailer below.
