Look Inside This Burning Man-Inspired Superyacht With a Nightclub

This boat is so dock & roll. Despite that terrible nautical pun, take a look inside “Galaxy,” a refurbished superyacht inspired by the fabled Burning Man festival. Originally constructed in 2005 by Italian shipbuilding company Benetti, the 184-foot superyacht recently underwent a five-month refitting at the behest of two anonymous owners and longtime Burners, according to Robb Report. “Galaxy” manifests the empyrean nature of Burning Man with its bold interior design. The entire main deck was transformed into a nightclub akin to a “floating private member’s club,” complete with a bespoke DJ nook and kaleidoscopic, adjustable RGB lighting. Njord by Bergman Design House Just like Burning Man, “Galaxy” is sensory overload. Case in poin...

Listen to the full episode below. In addition to highlighting his most recent scores, they also discussed works from across his career as a composer. At one point, Gross played an excerpt of his Phantom Thread score and asked him how he achieved the piano’s muffled sound. “There’s a roll of felt laid between the hammers and the strings, which is why it sounds like that, and it’s a little bit out of tune just because I’m a bit lazy with my booking a piano tuner, I’m afraid,” he said. Fans recently petitioned for a circumbinary exoplanet to be named after the late SOPHIE. The International Astronomical Union’s Working Group Small Body Nomenclature (WGSBN) has now officially named an asteroid after SOPHIE. Originally dubbed RE1, it was discovered in 1980 by Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť Observatory in the Czech Republic.
