Too Far: Fat Joe Get Clowned For Yeezy Moonboot Fit, Memes Flourish

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: @donnellrawlings / Instagram Fat Joe took to Instagram to show off what he thought was a fire fit that featured him wearing those YEEZY NSTLD boots. However, Joe Crack didn’t get the sweeping praise he was surely looking for. Instead, the Bronx rapper opened the door to waves of slander over his audacity to act like those glorified moon boots from the YEEZY brand are flames. Yes, there are people who think so, but please reconsider that decision. Anyway, the fit itself wasn’t too bad; denim, a khaki jacket and a pink hoodie. “Waiting on the snow” was Joe’s caption for the pic he share on IG. But those YEEZY boots got all the attention for all the wrong reasons. Some trusty Timberlands these are not. Soon enough, the photo went viral, and the memes s...

Flume Reimagines PinkPantheress’ “Noticed I Cried” With Trippy Drum & Bass Remix

In the spirit of PinkPantheress‘ to hell with it remix EP, Flume throws caution to the wind, trying his hand once again at drum & bass music. Perhaps after seeing the reception of 2020’s single “The Difference” (with Toro y Moi), Flume was inspired to dig deeper into his affinity for energizing drum & bass. PinkPantheress’ original “Noticed I cried” had laid the potential groundwork for a feverishly rhythmic remix, and leave it to Flume to deliver in spades. Flume pins a dizzying PinkPantheress vocal loop at the center of the track, creating a trippy atmosphere. He plays up these psychedelic aspects as the track progresses with frenetic vocal pitch bends and distortion. As the vocals gradually swirl into the background, space is made f...

As the latest major development on The Strip in over a decade, Zouk had a lot to prove. On paper it was hardly an ideal time for a new nightlife venture given the macroeconomic backdrop of the pandemic, but Zouk met the moment. Amid the seasonal debuts of their Ayu Dayclub and Zouk Nightclub experiences, the organization leaned on their international reputation amongst world-traveling artists and their teams as an industry leader in hospitality to co...

DJ Fresh Revives Beloved Early 2000’s Drum & Bass Imprint, Breakbeat Kaos

Breakbeat Kaos, one of the industry’s most beloved record labels for drum & bass music, has relaunched at the direction of DJ Fresh. In the early 2010s, Fresh achieved world recognition for hit tracks like “Gold Dust” and then—alongside Rita Ora—became the world’s first artist to top the U.K. charts with a drum & bass single, according to UKF. He did the same with 2011’s timeless dubstep song “Louder.” As his career boomed, releases on Breakbeat Kaos began to wind down. By that point, however, the imprint had already released a slew of early career singles from future household names like NERO and Chase & Status. They also released Hold Your Colour, the debut album from legendary drum & bass group Pendulum. Recommended Articles None...

HipHopWired Featured Video It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Papoose and Remy Ma in the same music video, but today the happily married rappers finally get together in the same visual and bring some of their famous peers along for the ride. Linking up with 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne for the remix clip to “Thought I Was Gonna Stop,” Pap and Remy drop all the bars in the visually entertaining video filled with CGI effects and colorful backdrops. We lowkey surprised they haven’t dropped more cuts together. Speaking of CGI, Wiz Khalifa uses quite a bit of it in his Project Pat assisted visuals to “Backseat” which uses animation to delight the eye while Wiz and Project pleases the ears. Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Berner featuring Cozmo, Rubi Rose, and mo...
