Paper Route EMPIRE Pays Tribute to Young Dolph in Compilation Album ‘Long Live Young Dolph’
The Paper Route EMPIRE family is paying their respects to the late Young Dolph in the compilation album, Long Live Young Dolph. Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, the eight-track project features cuts from Key Glock, Jay Fizzle, Snupe Bandz, Big Moochie Grape, Kenny Muney and more. United States authorities have taken three men related to Young Dolph’s murder into custody: Justin Johnson, Shundale Barnett and Cornelius Smith. Young Dolph was shot and killed in home of Memphis in November 2021 while buying cookies for his mother at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies. He was 36 years old. NBA YoungBoy Drops 20-Track Mixtape ‘Colors’
YoungBoy Never Broke Again has officially released his newest project, Colors. Clocking in at approximately an hour, the 20-track mixtape features only one guest appearance from Quando Rondo on “Gangsta” and includes the previously-released single “Fish Scale.” Colors follows YoungBoy’s collaborative record From the Bayou with Birdman, which dropped just last month, and is his first solo project since September 2021’s Sincerely, Kentrell. Helmed by both Elleray and Gale, who both previously served as executives at Universal Music Publishing Group, Second Songs will focus on making sustainable careers for both developing and established songwriters. My Bloody Valentine have taken to social media to alert Spotify listeners that the band’s lyrics shared via the streaming platform are inaccurate. “Just noticed that Spotify has put fake lyrics up for our songs without our knowledge,” they wrote. “These lyrics are actually completely incorrect and insulting. We’re not sure where they got them from, probably one of those bullshit lyrics sites on the internet.” Pitchfork has reached out to Spotify. Elza Soares, Brazilian Singer and Samba Icon, Dies at 91
Brazilian singer Elza Soares has died at the age of 91, her family and team reported on her official social media pages. Soares died today of natural causes at her home in Rio de Janeiro. “The beloved and eternal Elza has been laid to rest, but she will forever be in the history of music and in our hearts and the thousands of fans around the world. Like Elza Soares’ wanted, she sang until the very end,” the statement said. Elza Gomes da Conceição was born in 1930 in Rio de Janeiro’s Moça Bonita favela. Adele has announced that her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency has been postponed. The singer broke the news today (January 20) in a tearful Instagram video. “I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” she said in the clip. “We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID. Half my crew half my team are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now. The 35th annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert has been announced. The event will take place on March 3, and feature performances from Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Angélique Kidjo, Keanu Reeves, Trey Anastasio, Margo Price, Tenzin Choegyal, the Fiery Furnaces, and others, selected by curator and artistic director Philip Glass. Iggy Pop and New Order’s Bernard Sumner will also make appearances. The presentation will be virtual, streaming on Mandolin for the second year in a row. All proceeds will benefit Tibet House US.
