PETA Is Not Too Happy With Ye’s Use of a Skinned Monkey for Upcoming Track

PETA is not too happy about the cover art used in Ye and The Game‘s upcoming track “EASY.” Teased on Kanye West‘s Instagram account with the caption, “MY LIFE WAS NEVER EASY” a skinned monkey against a red background can be seen — the art is from Nick Knight’s a Study in physiology, form, philosophy and death. PETA President Ingrid Newkirk commented to Billboard: The photo is reminiscent of the monkeys PETA has found, sometimes heads, sometimes hands, sometimes the whole body, in meat markets around the world and it makes it clear that when you remove the fur you can’t miss that there’s a person in there, that they are fellow primates, and do not belong to us to abuse for any purpose — not in laboratories, roadside zoos, movies, or meat markets. Listen to Kanye West and The Game’s New Single “Eazy”

Kanye West and The Game released a new song on Friday called “Eazy,” alongside graphic artwork of a skinned monkey. The track features a signature monotone beat that Ye has become known for, alongside a sample of a woman singing the word “easy.” “Mr. Narcissist, tell me about my arrogance / No more counseling, I don’t negotiate with therapists,” West, who changed his name to Ye last year, raps on the track. Ye also disses soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian‘s rumored boyfriend Pete Davidson with the line: “God saved me from the crash / just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s a–.” The line references his near-fatal car crash in 2002 when he fell asleep at the wheel and had his jaw wired shut. “And my new b—- bad / Illuminati mad,” he follows up with. Earlier this week, Ye told DJ Premier th...

HHW Gaming: Microsoft Quietly Puts A Fork In The Xbox One, Will Focus Soley On The Xbox Series X & S

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Anadolu Agency / Getty Unlike Sony, Microsoft is fully invested in the future of gaming and is saying goodbye to the Xbox One. Per The Verge, Microsoft has officially lowered the Xbox One’s casket because it no longer manufactures models of that console. Ahead of the launch of Xbox Series X, Microsoft discontinued the Xbox One X and Xbox One S Digital Edition in July 2020. Now, new information reveals the company quietly pulled the plug on the Xbox One S console, essentially moving on from that generation and firmly getting behind Series X and S. Kid Cudi Plays A Porn Star In New Horror Film ‘X’

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Albert L. Ortega / Getty While we continue to wish to see Kid Cudi back on the small screen in HBO’s How To Make It In America (HBO dropped the ball on that series), at least we’ll be able to see KC on the big screen in A24’s new horror film, X. Starring alongside Brittany Snow, Jenna Ortega, Martin Henderson, and Mia Goth, Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) stars as a would-be porno star who’s production team takes to rural Texas to film an XXX film. Once there things get pretty weird when the old folk on the farm turn out to be “not well” and end up trying to murder the adult film cast and crew. Set in the 70’s, the cinematography calls back to those old school grindhouse films that had us playing with the “Tracking” button on the VHS to get a clearer picture and...

Henderson also says that we can expect a “big” Warzone update that will follow the release of the next Call of Duty ga...

Cercle Organizes Homecoming Performance for Vintage Culture at Brazil’s Museu do Amanhã

Cercle is once again hosting a pie-in-the-sky DJ set at an incredible location. This time around they’re bringing red-hot dance music producer Vintage Culture to his home of Brazil to perform at the Museu do Amanhã. The Museu do Amanhã, or the Museum of Tomorrow, is located in Rio de Janeiro and is prevalently regarded as one of the many must-see locations within the city. Often described as neo-futuristic, the spaceship-like structure was built as a hub when the city hosted the 2016 Summer Olympics. Vintage Culture’s DJ set, scheduled for on January 24th, will be performed on the water mirror constructed around the Museu do Amanhã, which creates the illusion that the building is floating. This show will serve as Cercle’s first of the year as well as their ...

ESPER and Lockbox Tap Isaiah Brown for Must-Listen Melodic Bass Track, “Freefall”

Rising electronic music producers ESPER and Lockbox have teamed up with Los-Angeles-based singer-songwriter Isaiah Brown for a new single called “Freefall.” Brown provides a stentorian topline here, exploring the difficulties of letting go and finding the strength to break free from the shackles of the past. The transcendent nature of the lyricism is mirrored by the track’s soaring drops, which find ESPER and Lockbox producing a melodic bass stunner replete with empyrean synths and fluttering arpeggios. The young producers go haywire in the second drop, switching up the arrangement with a ferocious dubstep segment before bringing the song home with a melancholic coda. Take a listen to “Freefall” below and find the single on streaming platforms here. ...

Bonobo Encapsulates the Ebb and Flow of the Collective Consciousness In “Fragments” LP: Listen

Renowned electronic music producer Bonobo has unveiled Fragments, a new album and a magnum opus in what has been an illustrious career. The highly anticipated record is his seventh studio album and follows Migration, which was released five years ago nearly to the date. One listen through the album is all it takes to know that the British DJ and musician is in a league of his own. Emotionally intense, Fragments rings true to its name and it’s not hard to see that Bonobo has relinquished intricate and deep-seeded parts of himself within its 12 tracks. The album was recorded and mixed by Bonobo over the last two years as he sought refuge on solo adventures into nature, away from the shutdowns. Having spent that time immersed in the natural world, he produced the new album by in interla...
