Jim Jones Tells Angela Yee He Has No “Issue” With Freddie Gibbs

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Guillermo Proano/WENN.com / WENN A few weeks ago social media was ablaze with word that Jim Jones and his crew jumped Freddie Gibbs inside the Prime 112 restaurant in Miami. And while there was word that someone did actually record the fight which allegedly included Jim Jones body slamming Gibbs, nothing ever materialized and Gibbs denied the account. Now after weeks of keeping mum on the subject, Capo addressed the topic while doing an interview with Angela Yee on her Lip Service podcast. Yee approached the subject by asking if it was true that he was naming his next album Prime 112 to which Jones stated it was “false.” After the hosts asked if it was a joke, Jim seemed tongue-tied for a second before asking to “skip” to the next topic. After talking abo...

HHW Gaming: Court Upholds Firing of LAPD Officers Who Chose To Catch ‘Pokémon’ Instead of Crooks

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: SOPA Images / Getty Two LAPD officers had to catch them all, and we’re not talking about crooks. Per the Los Angeles Times, a California appeals court upheld the dismissal of two Los Angeles Police Department officers who thought playing Pokémon GO on the job was more important than stopping a bank robbery going down at the Crenshaw Mall in 2017. According to court records, the California Court of Appeal rejected the claim of the two officers, Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell, that the LAPD “improperly used a digital in-car video recording of their private conversations in order to prove their misconduct, and another that they were improperly subjected to questioning about their actions by a supervisor without legal or labor representation present...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Tom Williams / Getty Voters in North Carolina formally filed a legal challenge to have Rep. Madison Cawthorn disqualified from running for a second term, citing his involvement in the event leading up to the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. According to reports, a group consisting of 11 voters from Cawthorn’s home state of North Carolina filed a legal challenge on Monday (Jan. 10) with the State Board of Elections. The Weeknd Confronts His Older Self in New “Gasoline” Music Video

Four days removed from dropping his highly-anticipated fifth studio album Dawn FM, The Weeknd is continuing his promotional initiatives by dropping his latest music video for “Gasoline.” The track is another pop-focused and upbeat number that has production assistance from Matt Cohn, Max Martin and Oscar Holter, and the accompanying video — directed by Matilda Finn — exhibits the Toronto artist navigating his way through a creepy dance club. The nearly five minute clip opens up with ants crawling creepily around The Weeknd’s earphone-plugged ears as he drives through recklessly through a storm and eventually crashes into a do not enter sign. In similar fashion to the “Sacrifice” video, the scene transitions into a dark and deranged dance party where the pop crooner encounters his older sel...

Normani and Taraji P. Henson Get Sprayed For Not Slaying on ‘That’s My Jam’: Watch

It’s a New Year and Jimmy Fallon is clearly enjoying his new NBC show, That’s My Jam. On Monday night’s episode, The Tonight Show host roped-in a starry lineup for a round of “Slay It Don’t Spray It,” a game which puts contestants’ lyrical skills to the test. Failure is met with a mighty squirt to the face. Entering the Doombox was the pairing of singer Rita Ora and New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi, who faced off against Empire actor Taraji P. Henson and pop star Normani. It didn’t start so well for Normani and Taraji, who tackled Jennifer Lopez’s “Waiting for Tonight.” It didn’t end well either, as both were slammed with water. Kanye West Raps Inside a Rapture Tornado in Dark ‘Heaven and Hell’ Video

Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) dropped the stark video for the Donda track “Heaven and Hell” on Monday night (Jan. 10), debuting the monochromatic clip during a commercial break in the College Football Playoff national championship game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide. Explore See latest videos, charts and news The game-break timing made sense, since the nearly three-minute visual ends with a plug for Ye’s mass market fashion line Yeezy Gap, with the $80 unisex black (or blue) hoodie he sports in the video available for purchase after the ad run. In keeping with the song’s dark, grinding vibe, the action takes place in a dystopian city peopled by figures in the black hoodies and the style of face-obscuring mask the rapper has taken to wearing over the past year. “N...
