SZA took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal the official cover art for her highly-anticipated forthcoming album, S.O.S. Posted without a caption, the visual sees the “Good Days” vocalist seated at the end of a very long diving board above a massive body of water. Looking out over the blue, SZA wears a jersey donning the album’s moniker. In an interview with Billboard earlier this month, SZA announced that the record, which will arrive as her sophomore studio effort and her first full-length project since 2017’s Ctrl, is slated for release in December. According to the outlet, the record holds the “most captivating” music she has ever made. SZA disclosed that she is “currently stressed” about meeting her release deadline. “I could literally burst into tears and run thro...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Greg Doherty / Getty / Samuel L. Jackson Samuel L. Jackson had thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s unwanted opinion on actors who star in Marvel Studios movies. Nothing grinds white movie directors’ gears more than the popularity of comic book movies, mainly Marvel Studios films. Quentin Tarantino, who has a penchant for abusing the N-word in his films, is the latest director to gripe about superhero films. In a recent episode of the 2 Bears,1 Cave podcast, Tarantino dropped a ridiculous hot take claiming actors who star in the film become obsolete. “Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is…you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters,” Tarantino said. “But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is ...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Patrick McMullan / Getty/ Billy McFarland Billy McFarland, the man behind the biggest fail in music festival history, the Fyre Festival, wants to plan another venture in the Bahamas. Spotted on VICE, Billy McFarland, who was sent to prison for defrauding investors out of $26 million, is back with another venture. This time he says things will be a bit different because the new venture hilariously called PYRT (a play on the word pirate) is not a music festival, he explained in a TikTok video announcing the new experience. “PYRT is not a festival. It’s not an event. And it’s definitely not the metaverse,” McFarland tries to explain in a TikTok post pitching the project. “PYRT is a technology I’ve been working on for the past few years called the VID/R: the ...
PinkPantheress is back with another pop-filled offering with her latest single, “Boy’s a liar.” Produced by PinkPantheress and Mura Masa, the tune harbors a dream pop cadence with a steady bolstering beat. Sonically, the track continues to prove the UK native’s versatile prowess as her tracks move in and out of light-hearted and full-bodied sounds while portraying an array of contemplative emotions. This time around, the artist discusses the experience of dealing with a guy who is toying with her emotions – fueled by lies, confusion and despair. “Can you take a look inside your heart/Is there any room for me?/I won’t ever have to hold my breath/Till you get down on one knee because/What’s the point of crying?/It was never even love/Did you ever want me?/Was I ever good,” sings PinkPanthere...
hey guys – I’m afraid we’re going to have to postpone – until further notice – our US shows – and give serious consideration to our Australian dates in january. following an innocuous, fun rehearsal three weeks ago – during which, as usual, i wore ear protection – i’ve been plagued by various ear issues, tinnitus and apparent hyperacusis amongst them, and am totally unable to perform, barely able to exist in the world as we speak (the idea of getting onto a flight is particularly fucking terrifying, and i’m not just talking about the vegetarian meal options). i have taken advice from ENT doctors, audiologists and my GP and have spent more money than i’ve ever spent on anything before trying to fix this issue but so far, no dice. we want to reschedule the dates as s...
