On Thursday (Nov. 17), the current House of Representatives Majority leader made an address to her fellow representatives that she would be stepping down from leadership when the next Congress convenes in January. While Pelosi didn’t publicly say whom she would pick to replace her, many have pointed to Hakeem Jeffries as the primary candidate – making him the first Black person to hold that type of leadership role in either chamber of Congress. “That’s up to them, I want it to be whatever they want it to be,” she said in an interview after her speech. Jeffries was quickly ...

Elon Musk’s Twitter Bans Employees From Entering Company Offices Until Monday

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: NurPhoto / Getty Elon Musk’s Twitter epic downfall due to his incompetent leadership continues. Twitter informed the employees who are bravely still sticking with the company that they would be locked out of its offices until Monday. Multiple news sources reported that Twitter offices were closed effective immediately. No reason for the decision was shared at the time, but there are speculations. Musk’s team made a similar move during the mass layoffs “out of a concern for safety and an apparent fear that exiting employees could attempt to sabotage the company on their way out,” per ABC 7 Eyewitness News.  Some feel this closure of the Twitter offices is happening for the same reason. In the message announcing the closing of Twitter offices, employee...

Listen: Gorillaz Recruit Dom Dolla for Massive Remix of “New Gold”

Back in August, Gorillaz released their single “New Gold” alongside Tame Impala and Bootie Brown. The second single off their forthcoming album, Cracker Island, the track offers a psychedelic twist on the iconic band’s classic indietronica sound. Now, house music superstar Dom Dolla has been selected for an official remix, which is out now. It’s rare for Gorillaz to recruit remixers—save for a 2020 remix by Robert Smith, the last time was over four years ago. The remix begins with atmospheric vocal chops, which layer over Parker’s hypnotic vocals for a blissful, floating effect. Brown’s unapologetic verses then enter the fray before a tense build, which culminates in an anthemic tech house drop. It’s a signature Dolla record and one that doubles as a car...

Escher, “Say What” is G Jones and ISOxo at their very best. “The song ‘Say What’ started off as a beat challenge that I did a few years ago,” explained ISOxo, who was named to EDM.com‘s Class of 2022 earlier this year. “I wanted to make a G Jones-type beat when creating the track, little did I know that years later he would actually ...
