Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released a new music video for their Cool It Down song “Wolf.” The visual is directed by Allie Avital and stars Britt Lower from Apple TV+’s Severance as a wife sorting through feelings of confinement, wildness, and intimacy. Watch it below. “It was our great fortune to collaborate with the powerhouses Allie and Brit on this video for ‘Wolf,’” Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O said in a statement. “Allie casts a spell with the gorgeous world she weaves- always with teeth that bite, and Britt embodies all the contradictions in the themes of ‘Wolf,’ so enamored with her performance that’s got as much heaven as it does hell. We were beside ourselves with excitement when Allie cast Brit as the lead in the video, YYYs are serious nerds for Severance, what luck when the stars align.”...
Patrick Haggerty, who led the proudly queer Lavender Country, has died. According to a statement posted to the band’s official social media pages, the 78-year-old activist and musician died on Monday (October 31) after suffering a stroke a few weeks ago. “He was able to spend his final days at home surrounded by his kids and lifelong husband, JB,” the statement reads. At the front of Lavender Country, Haggerty led what is believed to be the first openly gay country country band, recruiting friends around Seattle, Washington to record 1973’s Lavender Country. With tracks like “Come Out Singing” and “Cryin’ These Cocksucking Tears,” the group defied the stiff conservatism that still restricts country music nearly 50 years later. The album faded into obscurity until a 2014 reissue from the la...
Norm Chambers, who made analog-heavy ambient music under the name Panabrite, has died. He had been living with a rare form of sinus cancer since 2019. “With great sadness I must report that around 1:30 PM today our dear friend Norm Chambers passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones,” wrote friend Pete Prezzano on a fundraising page for Chambers’ care. Prezzano later confirmed the news to Pitchfork. Chambers was 50 years old. “The world has lost a beautiful and creative force in Norm Chambers, an outstanding composer, sound designer, and music anthologist who inspired us all with his wondrous sonic vision and grace,” said Prezzano. “Those who knew Norm personally are aware it’s no accident that these incredible gifts came from him; as brilliant at he was in his art, he was an even b...

She’s got a princess face, a killer body, samurai mind. Nicki Minaj showed off her Disney princess fantasy in a new social media post on Monday (Oct. 31). For Halloween, the rapper decided to dress up as a high-fashion Cinderella… or Chunderella, according to her fairy tale rewrite of a caption. “And as she heard the whispers…Chunderella snickered,” she wrote. “The ugly/evil step sisters had EVERY RIGHT to bicker (through their blisters!) After all, deep down inside…they knew…they’d never fit the glass slippers… The END.” In the slideshow, Minaj poses in a blond wig, tiara and an architectural take on Cinderella’s classic blue gown. However, the Harajuku Barbie proved once she turned around that her version of the princess is quite the “Super Freaky Girl,” complete with two rather NSFW cut...
As the world and the Korean entertainment industry react to the crowd-crush tragedy in Seoul’s Itaewon neighborhood in South Korea, AleXa took a moment of her tour to remember those lost. At her concert Sunday at Los Angeles’ Avalon Hollywood, the final date in AleXa’s First Meet & Live Tour in U.S. tour, the star asked for a minute of silence to pay respect to the victims. “I’m saddened and quite devastated to hear what happened in Itaewon recently in Korea,” the 25-year-old told the audience. “Many bright, young stars, many young lives were lost in this tragedy that will forever go down in history as one of the worst things to happen in modern times in Korea. It’s forever going to change the lives of people they knew, friends, family, and loved ones. I kindly ask that we altogether o...
After dropping their joint album Only Built For Infinity Links earlier this month, Quavo and Takeoff have delivered the official music video for one of the project’s lead tracks, “Messy,” directed by Quavo and Daps. In the visual’s opening sequence, a confused Quavo wakes up a sleeping Takeoff inside a vehicle to tell him that he had a dream about “some messy a** s***.” Upon falling back asleep, the two find themselves rapping from inside a Halloween-themed home. And as the title suggests, things quickly get messy: guests begin throwing food at each from across a dining table; a heated card game turns into a screaming match, and a couple argues with each other while children run through the corridors. “Don’t let that broke b**** in ’cause she too messy/Who the f*** them broke boys wit...
