Hi [Recipient]! It’s Kurt Vile. You might know me as Philadelphia’s Constant Hitmaker, I am a PROUD Philadelphia native. Heck, Mayor Nutter declared August 28 ‘Kurt Vile Day’ in Philadelphia. I’m on tour of the U.S. now with my band the Violators, so I’ll keep this quick. I’m reaching out today about my guy, John Fetterman. The truth is that Fetterman has been fighting for Pennsylvania probably longer than I’ve been messing around with a guitar. My wife and I have two young daughters we’re raising right here in PA. We want the best for our kids, and I know Fettterman will fight for a better future for my family. The Fetterman campaign is also the only candidate in PA running for a U.S. Senate seat supporting marijuana legalization. Will you stand with me, Kurt Vile, by making a donation of...
Nas and Hit-Boy have revealed the cover art for their forthcoming studio album, King’s Disease 3. The accomplished duo went fairly simple with the art, opting to spell out the number three in roman numerals using gold bars, alongside the LP’s November 11 release date. King’s Disease 3 marks the Grammy Award-winning team’s fourth full-length collaboration. Nas and Hit-Boy first linked in 2020 for the inaugural King’s Disease, followed by a sequel in 2021. Later that same year, they surprise released the album Magic. It was on the album cut “Ugly” that Nas confirmed King’s Disease 3 was on the way and that Magic was just a teaser of what’s to come. “I’m on offense every day until I see the love / KD3 on the way, this just to feed the buzz,” he rapped. Both the first and second King’s Disease...
Trippie Redd is working on developing an anime series with Carl Jones, a producer on The Boondocks. The adult animated sitcom happens to be one of the rapper’s all-time favorite series. The show ran on Cartoon Network‘s Adult Swim for four seasons between 2005 and 2014, following a Black family called the Freemans as they settle in the predominantly white suburb of Woodcrest, intertwining themes of culture, stereotypes and identity. A reboot for The Boondocks was picked up by HBO Max in 2019 but ultimately shelved just earlier this year. “It’s an honor to be working on an anime with the same guy that animated the show that made me love anime,” Redd wrote to Jones on his instagram story, per HipHopDx. The Ohio native went on to reveal that they have already begun working on the script for t...

An inductee of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is protesting one of the Hall’s upcoming inductions. Complicating matters is that the protest comes from Jann S. Wenner, the founder of Rolling Stone and a co-founder and former chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, who was himself inducted into the institution as a non-performer in 2004, when he was a recipient of the Ahmet Ertegun Award. Wenner says that entertainment attorney Allen Grubman, who is also a founding board member and set to receive the Ertegun award next month, does not meet the Hall’s criteria for the honor. “Allen Grubman has made no contribution of any kind, by any definition, to the creative development or the history of rock & roll,” says Wenner. “He has been chosen because of his clout as entertain...
Kanye West continued his streak of spouting anti-Semitic comments in a heated argument with Chris Cuomo Monday (Oct. 17) on Cuomo’s self-titled new show on NewsNation. Before angrily hanging up on the show’s host, the rapper — who now goes by Ye — gave an update on his plans to buy the conservative social media platform Parler, spoke about ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s “left agenda” politics, and explained how he justifies his ongoing campaign of hate speech against Jewish people in a 20-minute virtual appearance on Cuomo. Cuomo caught up with Ye in a video call as the Yeezy designer was riding in a car. When asked if he was on his way to meet with former president Donald Trump, Ye said he was actually going to negotiate with the CEO of Parler — a social media hub generally used by right-wing p...
