Drake and The Weeknd have once again chosen not to submit their solo music for Grammy Awards consideration. While both artists’ names appear several times across the voter’s ballot for featured work, their individual albums — Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind and The Weeknd’s Dawn FM — do not appear on the official ticket, according to Pitchfork. Last year, after receiving nominations for both Certified Lover Boy and “Way 2 Sexy” in two categories, Drake withdrew his music from awards consideration entirely. Drizzy has had a rocky history with the Recording Academy, dating back to 2017, when he skipped the Grammys ceremony after the Academy nominated “Hotline Bling” in the rap category when he had contended that the track was a pop song. Meanwhile, The Weeknd outwardly expressed h...

Siblings fight but—much more importantly—they love each other. That dynamic is at the core of what makes Bebe Rexha and David Guetta such a dominant duo. Rexha and Guetta have an intuitive bond as musicians, the sort of innate ebb and flow typically reserved for lifelong friends. That level of compatibility can cause friction, but the tension is eclipsed by cohesion. The pair have repeatedly churned out smash songs together: “Say My Name” (with J. Balvin), “Hey Mama” (with Nicki Minaj) and, most recently, “I’m Good (Blue).” The chemistry between Rexha and Guetta is world-class, but their journey has been rocky at times. Rexha’s name was originally left off the marquee for “Hey Mama,” a song that—unbeknownst to the general public—w...
Picture this: You wake up in a custom two-floor bamboo treehouse, go to an hourlong Acro-Yoga session and then treat yourself to a refreshing elixir from The Village Witches. Then you attend a mind-blowing workshop about the mycelium network from none other than Paul Stamets himself, grab a bite to eat and you’re on your way to the beach to howl at the sunset before dancing the night away. Sounds dreamy, right? Believe it or not, this experience is real. Returning February 27th to March 6th for its 11th year, Envision Festival has been offering it for years. While many hear the word “festival” and conflate it with partying, the organizers of Envision have proven that it can—and should—be so much more than that. The festival’s bedrock comprises seven pillar...
Queen has released the emotional rock ballad “Face It Alone.” It’s the first song from the band that includes Freddie Mercury’s vocals to be released in over eight years. “Face It Alone” was recorded in 1988 during studio sessions for Queen’s 13th album, 1989’s The Miracle LP. The process of creating the album took an entire year. At the time, the band was grappling with Mercury’s HIV-positive diagnosis, which hadn’t been revealed to the public. “When something so near and dear to life / Explodes inside / You feel your soul is set on fire,” Mercury sings on the track. Mercury was 45 years old when Queen made “Face It Alone,” and passed away three years later from AIDS-related complications. The Miracle was Queen’s penultimate album with the singer, with the band releasing Innuendo nine mon...
Queen have unearthed a rare unreleased song with Freddie Mercury vocals. The band recorded “Face It Alone” during sessions for 1989’s The Miracle, which is being reissued on November 18. The song had been forgotten by the band and was believed lost, according to the band’s interview with BBC Radio 2, where the track premiered. Listen to “Face It Alone” below. “It was kind of hiding in plain sight,” Brian May told Radio 2’s Zoe Ball. “We looked at it many times and thought, oh no, we can’t really rescue that. But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, okay, we can do this and this. It’s like kind of stitching bits together. But it’s beautiful. It’s touching.” The reissue of The Miracle—the penultimate album to be released in Mercury’s lifetime—includes The ...
